thank you so much everybody - this is the kind of information i was looking for - actually it was the holly dupre document that got me interested in trying out polaroid transfers myself - there's a lot of info on the net on the process, but not much on equipment! anyway, as soon as i get my hands on a camera i'll be flying! :)

hi lutz, i heard about the vuezscan software, can that be used with any scanner? thanks for your recommendations! charlotte

anyone got any info on the canon fs-4000 negative scanner? i heard it's meant to be good and resonably priced.

can anyone recommend a high quality film/negative scanner to be used

for printing large size prints, ie A2 to A1 size? obviously price is

the ratings system definately needs to be changed - you shouldn't be able to rate unless you leave a comment to justify your rating, perhaps this would discourage the 'bot' rater? charlotte

hi - when i submit a comment to a photo critique request( not when i'm editing a comment) there is no option to add attachments - when i first joined i remember seeing an 'attachment box' option but now there's nothing! charlotte

i don't know what's happening,perhaps i had some browser problems or something...

critique can't be rated even though i didn't tick the critique only

definately think that only subscribing members should be allowed to rate - surely this would get rid of most of the bogus raters??

the rating thing is a bit of a joke really - i don't take it seriously at all - so many differnet people, so many different visions and so many different categories! just go with the flow and enjoy the commets and the high ratings, ignore the bad ones and laugh :)

i think it is absud to suggest that english should be the ONLY language allowed on photo.net! that is DISCRIMINATION. that's all i have to say!

as you probably guessed i really haven't got a clue...but it's great to get all this advice - i'm learning! i think perhaps what i need is a scanner that scans from negatives? i know i can get prints done up by professional agencies but as i need to do so many prints etc for exhibitions, it would probably be cheaper for me to do it myself in the long run...i don't know, but all this information is very useful. thank you all, charlotte
