An excellent capture of one of my favorite insects, the friendly (and beneficial!) little hoverfly. I love your composition, and the yellow is striking! I often have trouble capturing the different tones when shooting yellow flowers, but you've done very well with this one! Great details.

An interesting photo, but I don't like that his face is in shadow while his ear and sideburns are so well lit. The reflection on his violin is a little too blown out for my liking. But your composition is nice, and the subject matter is wonderful!

Wow! I'm jealous! What a beautiful capture! Perfect focus, and such a graceful wing position. Great details in the water droplets, too.

I like this image very much, except that the horizon should have been straightened out first (very distracting to an otherwise fine photo). Otherwise, I like your composition, and the b&w works really well. What a cool tree!
  1. I collected these stones at the beach along Lake Superior, and love the

colors and patterns they display when wet. But they looked so much

less interesting at home and dry. So I placed them in a tray, just

submerged in water, and photographed them in natural sunlight outside.

Beautiful composition of a beautiful flower. Great detail, and perfect saturation of colors! So often you see these over-saturated, which in my opinion ruins the image. Great work!

Very powerful image! I love the composition, and the walkway that takes you right into the picture and draws the eye to that awesome sky. Excellent b&w conversion!
