Pretty neat story from a guy who found a roll of film in the park.
At the end of the film you can see him taking a photo with what looks to me like a classic 35mm rangefinder.

-

You may also want to consider a Moskva 6x9. They're Russian copies of the German Super Ikonta. I bought a Moskva-2 (1953) a year ago. Just developed the first roll of HP5 last night (hey, I'm slow). The negs came out very well. I still need to practice framing and holding the camera still at slower speeds though. I really like the rangefinder focusing.

Can anyone tell me about the one in Grapevine, Texas listed on this website: http://www.donsphotoequipment.com/
I'm mainly interested in medium format gear but I'd like to hear anyone's comments.

I did a quick Google search for the manual but here's some great info.

I'm new to the FM2n also and had this same problem yesterday. I'd cranked the advance lever about half way when it stopped. I tried to push the rewind button but couldn't press it hard enough to get it to release. I got my Swiss Army knife out and used the flat bladed screw driver to press on the button. I don't like to force things but it seemed to work just fine.

The manual for the 544 is available here:
http://www.butkus.org/chinon/flashes_meters/sunpak_flash/sunpak_flash_units.htm
I recently bought one at a thrift store. I have yet to test it since it came without the battery pack or AC cord.
-
The counter was above 1 when I tested. The battery I used was a fresh one pulled from my FE. I'd only shot 4 or 5 rolls since I'd changed the battery.

I picked up an FG from Craigslist this past weekend. The seller said that it
did not work except whith the shutter set at M90. He assured me that it
wouldn't be as simple as cleaning the contacts and putting a new battery in it.
It wasn't. However, I was able to get it to fire at all the speeds below
1/125. When set on any speed higher than 1/60 the leds in the viewfinder for
1/60 and 1/125 both light up and the shutter fires but it sounds like 1/90th.
Set on either of the two automatic modes the shutter sounds like 1/90th no
matter how I set the film speed or aperture.
Does anyone have a clue what might be the cause of this behavior?

What about using a larger diffuser on your flash?

I went by one of our local camera stores and picked up a hotshoe adaptor today. I put it on the hotshoe and pluged the cord into the adaptor. The flash worked just fine so its the body connection not the cord. I can live with it using the hotshoe adaptor. :)

Thanks for the quick replys! I did a little more homework on this. Studying photos on the web, it looks like the inner core of the PC connector is missing. I suppose I'll have to get a hotshoe adaptor for it. Either that or take it in and have the body connector replaced. $$$!!

I just bought an old FE at a thrift store. I'm still shooting my first roll of
film but it seems to be working correctly. If I put a flash on the hotshoe it
fires just fine. If I connect a flash to the connector on the body it won't
fire the flash. The cable works fine when connected to my OM1 or my C220. The
connection on the body of the FE looks different to me. Do I need a special
cord for the Nikon? (You may have guessed. This is my first Nikon.)

John, I replaced the foam on the bottom too. I checked the metering as you described and it seems to be working. I've got a roll of Fuji Super HQ 200 in it right now. We'll see how it goes.

I just bought a Pen EES at a local thrift store. I haven't run any film through
it yet but it seems to be functioning normaly. If I run a roll of film through
it and confirm that the metering is working is there anything I can do to keep
it working? Would keeping the meter covered when not in use help? And does
anyone out there have any tips on using this camera? This is my first half
frame camera.

I'm currently in the same boat. I don't have a digital camera and my strobes are not adjustable. I've been reading the Strobist blogs too. I'm going to experiment with neutral density gels. It shouldn't change the character of the light, just it's intensity.

You were right Michael. I shot the last couple of frames with the Argus and rolled the film back into the cassette. It is an A2F. The film was Pan-X. If the sun comes out today I'll shoot the rest of the Verichrome Pan that's loaded in the Hapo.
-
Sorry the photo is so big. It's the first time I've uploaded a photo.

A co-worker brought a couple of cameras to work this morning. One is
a Hapo 66 and the other is an Argus 35mm that doesnt seem to have a
model name or number on it. Stupidly, we both assumed that the
cameras were empty. Both have film in them. Both camera backs were
opened and closed very quickly. I didn't notice what was loaded in
the Argus but the Hapo was loaded with Verichrome Pan with the paper
backing on it. After closing the back on the Hapo I checked the frame
number window. It was on 2 so if anything is on the film it will be
only one frame. These cameras were stored in a footlocker in a garage
in San Antonio for approximately 40 years. Is it worth the trouble to
develop these and if so what sort of developer and developing times
-
Thanks Nadine! It was the door not being fully latched at the top. I'm going to assume (perhaps incorrectly) that since I was loading in subdued light that I haven't fogged the whole roll. I'll go into my makeshift darkroom and relaod.
Thanks to everyone who responded!

I've just aquired a C220 after years of shooting 35mm. I tried
loading a roll of 120 film this afternoon. I expected the crank to
stop me from winding and for the frame counter to move off zero but it
never did. I ended up rolling the whole roll onto the take up reel.
I don't have the manual for this camera. What did I do wrong?

I'm getting back into film cameras and black and white after some time away.
This image is the Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument. Moskva-4, Industar-23 lens, Kodak TMAX 100, exposure not noted.
That line across the upper third of the image is a scanner issue. I had these developed and scanned at a local shop. Hope to do my own developing and scanning soon.
This is the Guadalupe River near Gruene, Texas. Rolleiflex 6006, 80mm lens, HP5 plus pushed 1 stop, exposure not noted.
