  1. its not easy to be subjective in nature and give fair balanced critical analysis all the time. i have been guilty of giving bad ratings to perfectly good shots and am astounded at my earlier ratings back in 2004.

ratings and critiques will always be subjective to the democracy out there.

heaping superlatives isnt the answer either but personally i do believe in giving credit where and when i see where i think credit is due. either in the form of good ratings or critiques.

i like to give positive comments a lot to encourage people because i appreciate thier work and the fact they shared it!

    thank you --cheers--evan

  2. well just to add my 2 cents worth...this site is fantastic!

the photography displayed here is bar none superior in every respect.

however one caveat, i take a tremendous amount of flak from my wife at our 2 computer workstation as she looks over and gives me critiscim for the nudes on the top photo's 3 days ave.

most of the work is very artistic and in good taste, however it overwhelms her! and i contiuously get it in the neck to say the least.

i have to explain over and over and over that you have to look at it as art-ya right she says, just lusting, no dear its art. try to explain that one, good luck.

    cheers.

    god bless

ps,i never never ever see my own rated pics on the top photos maybe the gremlins are at work eh?

  3. hi there, just browsed by....personally my ratings have just bit the big one...and im just going to concentrate on constuctive critiscim that i can learn to a better photographer.

taking pictures is just a natural extension of who we are.

so just enjoy the images and forget the rest...

    cheers

    evan
