Well, I appreciate the feedback so far; but would love to get some more information from those who are experienced with the r1800 and r2400.

Your both right. I just went to their site and tonight it is lised for $529...quite a jumpfrom last night at $189. Wha's going on with Amazon. I thought they were straight shooters. Oh well, live and learn. Thanks for the feedback.
Do either of you have any commnets on the printers?

Presently I'm using an Epson Stylus Photo R300. I think it does quite
well, but is limited to 8-1/2 x 11 paper. I'm looking to go larger and
was thinking of the R1800. Then the 2400 came out, and I thought for a
few hundred bucks more I would get the 2400. However, I just
discovered that Amazon is selling the R1800 for $189. Quandry...now is
it worth a lot of bucks more to get the 2400? Anyone have experience
with both that would have some thoughts on the matter. I would
appreciate it.

HI -Hope I'm not too late to chime in...The below photo was taken with window light ( east facing window about 2:30PM) coming in and a curved white reflector card surrounding about 1/2 the bottle.

Brian, I am a subscriber and the notice told me four per day. Am I being "mistreated" :>)

After working some more, I got a response that said I was limited to 4 uploads per day.

After uploading photos and trying to do a request for critique I find
that option missing from the options selection for the new photograph.
Any one else having that problem? Is it something I am doing? Thanks

I see nobody mentioned Tamron lenses - what do you think of them?

I struggled with that film/digital question for quite sometime. I really like the quality of medium format work, but did not want all of the "hassle" involved with film. I've done darkroom work and enjoyed it at that time, but always thought it would be great to have a window in the darkroom to look outside... Well you probably know the feeling. I finally decided on digital all the way and just ordered a 20D. It should be here next week. I think it will give me the flexibilty I want and the digital darkroom I now prefer. We'll see how it all goes.

I'm a little confused (not unusual)...if you get a portable hard drive don't you have to plug it to a computer to download? How will the portable hard drive and camera only work? - Irv

HI David,
What kind of media are you using on the R1800. Have you tried cotton
rag, premium luster or what. With what results on each.
Thanks - Irv
