Brussels, may 8th, 2005. During the celebrations on the 50th birthday

of the end of WWII, an old chap in US uniform... He looked so lost in

his thoughts, I tried to capture that emotion.

You are right, Thomas, I think Ron has been much more helped by your insightful comment than by mine, that is, IF he has not committed suicide by now ;o)

Can't figure out if the tilted horizon adds to the image or detracts from it... interesting!

By the way, how did you hold the camera? ;o)

Henry, about the colors, this is how the same place looks in august... I wonder if it is the same boat that shows up on both photographs (mine was shot in 2003).

Victor and his father in the streets of Brussels. The DOF of the

Canon A70 is enormous, even at wide apertures, so the background was

blurred in PS. All comments, critiques and ratings really

Henry, I looked at them and they are beautiful. This photograph was taken only a few meters away from the place you took your photograph of the "Ponte Storto". You might want to have a look at my version of the bridge, "Green Waters" (I know, I am quite lame at naming the photos).

You're quite right about the dinghy, Curtis. Actually, you can see some bungalows of the hotel I stayed in on the cliff, so I WAS close. Unfortunately, the moment you talk about never happened, despite 2 full days waiting for it ... -erm, I mean, sunbathing on the playa ;o)
