I would suggest you get the SB22s which does Automatic exposure whereas the 50DX doesn't. Sure it's an old flash but it's darn accurate. Just follow the settings and you won't go wrong. It even bounces! I'm still regretting selling the one i had.

With a canon body, your choice of lenses are almost limitless with the use of adaptors.

We all understand that there is really no threat to security here when you photograph stained glass and copper. Not to say that the law enforcer was not trying to be egoistic but post 911, law enforcers have taken a stand of, "I rather be wrong now than be responsible for what the terrorist have done."
-
Have you watched the recent movie "Crash"? Though it's about racial discrimination, but it talks a lot about the authority that we thrust into the hands of law enforcers post 911. If you were to think further, I believe that what brought about this situation is the very nature of terrorism. It can be anywhere and everywhere. It's the fear (be it instilled fear or real fear of terrorism) that allow such things to happen.
I understand your concern for civil liberties but would the mass give up "security" for your liberty?

Focus trap?

I think the shutter might be dirty. I have a similar but more exaggerated problem with my Electro GX. You might want to ask your question over at www.rangefinderforum.com. Lots of experts over there.

Even if the light meter's working, it might not be accurate. Consider a VC meter II?

It's just a suggestion. Since you're keen on street photography, have you considered using range finders? They're probably more unobtrusive than DSLRs. Considering the fact that you can afford the D2X, you might consider the RD1 instead though there are plenty of QC problems with it. Do some research and you'll be amazed at the options available.

You can try http://forums.clubsnap.org/forumdisplay.php?f=20
It's a very active forum with lot's of people selling their stuff there. Otherwise, you can head down to town (City Hall) and go to Peninsular Shopping Centre. A shop there called The Camera Workshop sells good 2nd hand stuff. If you're really desperate, leave your email, I'll give you my contact so if you need help when you come over, feel free to call me.
Welcome to Singapore.

Hi everyone. I just bought a new Metz 20BC6 flash. The flash seems to
have no way of controlling the flash output manually and according to
instructions, everytime I set my ISO to 200, I am to set my aperture
at f/8. I know the relationship between the f stops and shutter. So
when I try to half the f stops and shorten the shutter speed, my
images are always overexposed. I realise that even at f/8, my images
seem a little overexposed. This leads me to conclude that the
telecomputer is not so smart after all.
I then proceed to mount the diffuser and insert 2 pieces of blank
paper in between to reduce the flash and it works! Now it's accurate
but my question is, would it harm the flash in the long run by
inserting the paper there?
Anyone met with a similar problem?

That is probably due to the bug that the D70 has in incorrectly assigning the AdobeRGB profile for sRGB JPEGS. With version 1.3 firmware for B, the problem is solved.

Coming to think of it, a wide angle that doesn't have readily available filters solution? What's Sigma thinking?

There is a patch for Photoshop CS that is not recommended if you have 1GB or more of ram on the adobe website. Did you install that patch?
-
If you have 1GB and above of RAM, DO NOT apply one of the patch of PS CS. Stated on the Adobe website, if you apply the patch and have 1GB of RAM and above, performance will be slower.

I think true learning takes place when using both. I'm quite new to SLR and the P mode has guided me along the way by providing values for A and S. Thereafter I experiment with slight increase/decrease to S and A. Without the P mode, I'll be quite lost in certain situations e.g. low light, indoors..

From the manual:
Plug the power cord into a power outlet (AC220V), the red pilot lamp will be the lighting, set the humidity control dial....
Hope it helps.

I feel that in exploring both mediums, you would be able to face your feelings truely. You would more clearly understand what it is that you are feeling when you attempt to translate from one medium to another.

Hi all, I'm using the Nikon D70 and I'm thinking of changing my kit
lens for a more versatile light weight zoom and I came across this. The sigma
18-125mm F3.5-5.6 It's a new lens so I was not able to find any
reviews. Any comments on it? Or does anyone have any first hand
experience to share?
