    Untitled

    Hi Enrico,

This photo is not even meant to be aesthetically perfect since it only depicts an old car parked on the street. The background is included for that reason, as well; and the Alfa looks tilted because it stands on tilted terrain (compare to the car in front and the houses in the background.)

Thanks for your comment and rating!

    Hi Olaf,

The most striking component of your photos, especially these ones from France, is their spontaneity. They present ordinary moments of life in an aesthetically very pleasing way.

    Excellent work, as usual. :)

  1. Olaf,

    Glad you like the composition!

The shot is indeed underexposed, and deliberately so, because I was afraid of fading out the color of the sky. Since I couldn't attach a polarizer to the tiny point-and-shoot camera I used, I decided to experiment with underexposure. Perhaps I did exaggerate a bit, though (EV -33/50).

    Red Light District

I heard stories from a couple of sources of thugs annoying photographers in the Red Light District of Amsterdam, although without any details of circumstances.

Having been there only once, I had no problems myself, but this lady did get visibly upset a couple of moments after this picture was taken, when she noticed me with the camera. :)
