Zane, Lubo, Thank You for Your great tips !

<p>You can buy fantastic maps there for little money. Do You have navigation maps (for Your GPS) ? that is also handy. The roads are built quickly there and some older maps are not very smart choice.<br>

<p>Sammy is my mother's darling. Sammy is keen on eating ROHLIK (a small baguette). I buy a few every morning when I visit my mother , Sammy waits ouside the small bakery, then she will get 1 and she carries it quickly home (some 200 m) . and then , at home, she eats it in a frenzy that lasts 1 second. She is very funny when she likes to bark and cannot because her mouth is full.</p><div></div>

Hello Garrison - thanks - I do not have a tight budget. I use PS heavily. (layers , on daily bases) . I can let the computer to be built or buy straight.
.
Hello Chris, thank You.

I am probably not the only one , who work with RAW and use PS2 and encounter problems with the computer
execution speed when using multiple levels in PS. My photo PC was updated 3 years ago last and I am ready to
invest some money to buy a new PC with the latest newest hardware configuration. Could You advice , please?
Thanks Jana

I just googled my name and found me and lot of others fellow PN photographers on the following sites:
http://maisdever.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
youni.biz/technote01/board.php?board=beutyfull&page=2&command=body&no=495 - 22k
anjosvestemmoschino.blogspot.com/2008/01/blog-post.html - 233k
and 1 arabic site.
Fortunatelly they have my name and copyright, but still, none of them asked my permission. I mind as they copy my nude models too, where I have a limited agreement to publish (only for private use and exibitions).

thanks Guys, I've already been there. We were unlucky with the weather (all the time rain). I also did not make any "great" images. thanks anyway. cheers Jana
ps I am not s crazy about the communist monuments, i escaped from that regime and know it well. I was enchanted by the transformation of the city, and I like the Eastern part a lot, great new architecture.

We are going for 4 days to Berlin. I would appreciate any suggestions on
interesting and photogenic places. Thank You

Buy Nikon D200 , it has a multiexposure function. Or just back to the slide. cheers Jana

There is always a good side to look at. If You got the red stars instead of crosses, I might start to get scared..
anyway, glad that the problem is gone, but do You know what the cause wasit? cheers Jana
-
Ivana, I have the same problem. Most of my images are around 5+, sometimes above 6 and I cannot see my images in the top photos. I can see images with lower ratings or images that got only 2 ratings.
The system software does not make difference (IMO) in the number of ratings. I do not think the system (software) works perfectly... cheers Jana

Dave, I wanted to have a look at Your work, but there is none on the PN. WHY ?? thanks Jana
-
I think: a passion and permanent learning and practicing is the key ! To look at the world every day as it is a wonder. To make images in Your mind. To read, to enjoy , to travel, to be present in the world.
And critiquing other images in the PN is a very good time spent too. cheers Jana

I use the following - and I am very happy.
name the basic image NAME = XXYYzzzz
XX PLACE / theme
YY TIME (year, month combination , hexadecimal month )
zzzz - 000-9999 or meaningful letters + numbers
variants of the same image.
XnameY
X=blank / @ @ is used for the image in web quality
Y=H (scan dia) / E edited / Q square / S - impression etc. blank = RAW
practical examples
NL06tul2E ----- means edited image (E) taken in the Netherlands 2006, theme tulip
NA06203 is RAW format of image taken in Namibia 2006
the same image edited in webquality @NA06203E
UF5fl03H is scan of a slide USA Florida 2005, flowers
This means , that every image name is unique, From the name I know where, when it is taken, sometimes I know the contents. Also I see if this image is RAW, edited or web quality. I can easy sort images according these criteria's.
I am very satisfied with my naming convention, it takes a bit of time
to archive (first downoald to PC, then archive on DVD and then from DVD copy with the right name back to hard disk). But with digital , the quantity of images progresses and the right naming can help not to be drawned in the chaos of images.

Sorry, I have read the complete thread . I found the solution there - about disabling the EMAIL feature on the folder level. Thanks jana

I would like to have a possibility to block the ECARD function per photograph (or folder). Is there any plan fot that? Thanks jana

How many members have PN at this moment? How much % from that total
is active (update in the last ca 3 month) ? thanks Jana
-
There is a subcommunity of PN called : PT (Picture This) that does that, look at my bio for the link. cheers Jana
-
By chance I saw 2 nearly identical "still life" images yesterday
posted by 2 members of the community. The second one was a copy of
the first one. The second one (copied) is in the top photo's of this
week. I do not know, if that is fair. What do you think? thanks jana
