  1. Hi, Ashley. WPPI was awesome! This was our second year. I attended WPPI Plus by Charles & Jennifer Maring from NY (they shot Donald Trump & Star Jones' weddings). It is 2 days with 20 students. All your questions answered. They had models and did a shoot both inside the hotel suite and outside at Bally's. It was phenomenal!

They had about 8 instructors to choose from. I would recommend that over any master's classes due to the small class size. Some of the main classes were so full people had to sit on the floor!

You learn so much it is worth every penny!

Hope to see you there next year!

  2. I also have found DPP to be more accurate color-wise than ACR. I however don't find it cumbersome. It takes me a lot less time to edit than with Photoshop. I make a list as I go through the files of the images I want to reopen and edit in Photoshop or with Noise Ninja, etc. Through this process, I believe I have cut my editing time for a wedding by hours.

After having many times that auto wb was way off, I use custom white balance for indoor by simply using a grey card. Some minor adjustments are sometimes needed, but I start out alot closer.

  3. Hi, Everyone. I am still here too, planning to work on the assignment. Just got back Thursday from WPPI and had to go to my grandma's funeral and had everyone for Easter. I am planning to work on it this weekend also. I might even have some I did in Vegas to show.

  4. Michelle,

I use Elements web gallery for all my proofs. The brides love them and they get alot of traffic. There are many different layouts and if you have a website you can simply use ftp to upload it.

  5. My husband and I will be attending as well. We will be arriving the afternoon of the 9th (wedding on the 8th). I am attending the afternoon seminar, but can meet up with all of you after it's over at 6:30.

  6. I also work from home. I meet with clients here most of the time. I have turned our guest room into a studio and have plans to add on to a sunroom/studio this summer hopefully. I wasn't sure if people would think it was professional, but alot of people have said how cozy and comfortable they are for consultations.
  7. I had a defective card exactly like yours. Every once and awhile it would lock up the camera and just say "busy" until I turned the camera off, and in so doing lost the last 5 or 6 images. I bought it from an online company who issued me an RMA, but they wanted the original packaging (which after having the card more than 6 months I threw away 1 week before I had this issue!). So they said I had to return it to Kingston directly.

I went through their website and they replaced it no questions asked. They received mine and sent the replacement the next day. There is even an option to have them ship it out immediately if you back it up with your credit card. I am very happy with their customer service and won't hestitate to purchase another Kingston card.

  8. Lauren,

I like to include as much natural light as possible. The flash I have is the 420EX which is controlled only by the camera. So I just dialed in -1 on flash compensation to decrease the amount of flash output since I personally like less flash. I also use the Pro Max bounce attachment with diffuser.

  9. Marc, that is really interesting. I remember that Albums, Inc. and Cypress Albums required a tax ID and asked for my website. As did Color Inc. Maybe these are new rules as I just signed up in the last few months.

Don't you have to charge state sales tax, Marc?
