  1. Thankyou everyone for your replies. All is clear. I have bought a polaroid holder, and I've acquired lots of DDS holders, some plastic, some wood, but they all appear functional. I got Jack Dyckinga's book for Christmas, and I've bought Roger Hicks work on MF and LF. I've been practising loading and unloading film in proper changing bag with armholes. I'm off to buy some polaroid film..........
  2. I have recently begun to acquire all the equipment I need for LF. I

have bought several "how to" books, read dozens of articles. Here's

the question. I have succesfully loaded my double film holders and

exposed the two films which will be my first LF masterpieces. Now

what do I do? Do I fumble in my changing bag and somehow get my

exposed negatives into a bag/pouch or similar. Or do I send the

whole double film holder for processing and hope I get it back.

Believe it or not, I can't find any reference to this in any of the

    popular books. Perhaps I'm stupid...................

  3. I bought the correct voltage battery adapter from the "Small Battery Company" in London. They sell Silver Oxde cells which have a very linear ouput, and the adapter converts the voltage to 1.3V.

The whole lot inclusing two spare cells was about ?28

  4. I have recently acquired a Rolleiflex 2.8E Planar. Although well

used the camera is in reasonable condition, however the taking lens

has areas where the coating is missing, and there is dust and some

separation in the elements. Is there anyone who can advise on

getting the lens system overhauled, new coatings etc?

  5. Baier fototechnik is Rolf-Dieter Baier, email info@baierfoto.de, website www.baierfoto.de. I bought the adapter from him, healso makes adapters for Rollei's. I bought the TTL/Spot prism from a high feedback ebay venor. There are lots, chooses one with nearly all positive feedback and you should get a new one for about $100 or less.
  6. I have just installed the Kiev Spot/ttl prism using a baierfoto

adapter, which is excellent. Using the standard 80mm lens, the

readings I get from the Kiev meter accord within half a stop of my

Gossen handheld. Question, do I still have to compensate for

increasing distance between lens and film on close-ups, or does the

fact that the meter in the prism is using the viewing lens make this

    unneccesary?
