Thanks a bunch to everybody so far!!!
And thanks for the clarification on 1st, 2nd 3rd person -It's been a long time since English class ;)
It seems we are rather divided on the topic...
I may decide to go 1st person... since I am trying to appeal to brides who are going to pay me to follow them around all day. I will take both formats to a few friends first though.
I've enjoyed reading all the responses so far!!

I've noticed that the photographers in my area have written their
webiste bios in the 3rd person... perhaps to make the business seem
larger than it is? This is one theory I've heard, with sentences like
"we can accomodate blah blah..." when really it's just the photographer.
My husband says I should write mine in the 1st person, as to seem
personable and approachable.
What are your thoughts on this? I'd appreciate the insight, as I'm
preparing to launch my site!
Thanks

My vote is for #1 also, it just looks finished.

hi everyone, yet another D200 post...
I live in Canada and I'm trying to get my hands on a D200. Now, I know
I'm a little behind the 8 ball so to speak :) I'm also aware of the
issues regarding purchsing a US model and the warranty associated with
it. I'm wondering if anyone can provide some info:
In your experience with Nikon products, am I likely to have major
issues within the 1 year warranty period?
I travel for work and don't have a problem purchsing one in Detroit or
Buffalo for example, and worse case, taking it there for repair etc.
Anybody have any thoughts on an e-bay purchse of this camera?
I've checked B&H, they are backordered. Here in Canada, the major
retailers have been alloted about 2 camera bodies per store on avg...
and don't expect another shipment until spring. It's quite a
ridiculour situation, really. Any advice is much appreciated!

It should be in your contract that any photos are your property for such use...

hi Brady,
I've yet to attand one of these shows as a photog... hoping to do one this winter. However, a family member of mine owns a modelling agency that supplies models for such shows (dresses etc) and January (winter) is generally considered to be 'bridal season' by the majority of vendors. The fall shows tend to be a lot of browsers.

My vote is for Las Vegas, which is funny since Jaimie started this thread and is in Vegas I believe...

thanks everybody... I wasn't too into the idea of spending almost $100 just to see how good or how crappy the book will look. This is such a trend right now, it would be nice to offer it... I'll check out the other services.

Has anybody tried this?
mypublisher.com... they offer the 'magazine style' books, you do the
setup and they print and ship. I'm thinking of making a book to show
clients an alternative kind of album.

sorry, I don't know how to resize photos for the threads!!!

hi Frank, that's pretty cool stuff :) I'll have to check out the Yahoo group.

Marc, it sure is gorgeous there :) Thanks for posting that photo!

Sean, that's some valuable advice... and it's much appreciated. Luckily for me, there are only about 20 people travelling for the wedding, and reception is simply dinner at a restaurant.
I'm going to work my butt off at this one, it'll be my first wedding on my own, and a huge asset to my growing (so far mainly assisting) portfolio.

I'm doing both, presently a photography student and an assistant.
Both have their merits... the techie stuff is learned in school. Dealing with people and learning from my mistakes happens while assisting.

hi Kari,
I recently used this idea on the last page of an engagement guest book... the words are from their first dance song (Broken Road by Rascal Flatts).
Another beautiful reading is from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. It ends with this: Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.<div></div>
