Like many other photographers I tried to capture the Leonid meteor
storm. I ventured out to nearby National Park in Western Australia
which was meant to be an ideal location for the showers. Went there
two days before the event to scout the area and night skys. Thought
that the interesting rock formations would provide a nice background.
It was beautiful the day before with perfectly clear skies and the
moon hiding in the horizon. I got this shot on the Nikon. I had a 2
35mm and a large format camera set up. Unfortunately on the actual
night the clouds came in and there was spectecular lightning storms
and rain. Waiting for large format negs/trannys and hoping to get
some good lightning shots. I did manage however to drive 200km away
(avoiding many a live kangaroo on the road) to a small rural area and
got a couple of 35mm shots on film. The actual display itself was
quite a spectacle. At one stage there was at least 1-2 visible
meteors per second for 10-20 sec intervals.

The Australian Doctors Orchestra comprises of medical practioners
that come together once a year to perform a concert. All proceeds go
to a chosen charity. We all receive the scores and CD recording three
months before the performance and come together 3 days before the
concert for 'intensive' rehersals. Check out the website on
www.ado.net.au. The above photo was taken during one of those
rehersals
