Hi, I think the subject is interesting, however, there is a problem with the composition here (this is only my advice but I think some people might share it !). That photo is lacking balance, as the main subject in the frame is centred. and we do not really know what point you try to make... I think another angle could have given a better effect, to get the "strong" points in the right place (1/3rd rule), you can check on my portfolio what to do (carom photo), and what to avoid (tea at the monastry), and you will probably understand what I mean !

 

Interesting photo though !

I guess that is the way, luck does not exist in photography, either you are ready or you are not, things happen if you are in the kind of mood of making them happen. It sounds a little boastful, but that is my feeling man ! Great atmosphere !

Actually, I did not know that you were not allowed to shoot in train stations... and I have made quite a few pics there, unfortunately not scanned as yet, I love the life and moods you get in train stations (not only in india, everywhere !). In fact I got more trouble with the police when I went to Howrah Bridge to shoot... I almost got my camera confiscated there ! I played the fool, and pretended I did not know, the policeman let me go without hassle ! It is part of the fun too I guess !

j'ai 2 commentaires ࠰ropos de cette photo ; le premier c'est que (de ma maigre exp鲩ence), il est rare qu'une photo avec un sujet de dos marche, il manque une relation, pas de contact oculaire etc. pour que 硠soit efficace, il faudrait que la personne oriente le regard vers quelque chose de particulier qui aie un v鲩table int鲪t. Le deuxi譥 point est qu'on ne sait pas vraiment ce que tu veux montrer, est-ce que tu le sais toi-mꭥ en prenant cette photo ? c'est vraiment essentiel de d鴥rminer ce que tu cherches ࠭ontrer, d'accord, on comprend que la dame regarde le long du quai au loin, dans la profondeur, mais je dirai que cette image est banale, qu'aurais-tu pu faire pour donner un int鲪t suppl魥ntaire ? te baisser ou monter sur le rebord du quai pour avoir un autre angle de prise de vue par exemple etc. n顮moins, c'est le type de photo qu'on fait tous ࠵n moment ou ࠵n autre de notre parcours photographique !

Hello Vaino, if i may make a comment, i find this picture very unpleasant to look at, as the pointed finger is agressive when you look at it. i think the effect could have worked, if the eyes of the child were still central and if that hand was not right at the centre. I think it is unfortunate because the blurred effect could have given a very dynamic look to that portrait. An idea to definitely work on though !
