  1. I can't really comment on the type of matte, but I can reccommend that any pen you use should be archival. It will produce a nicer line than any standard ballpoint, and the color will never fade. Considering that this autographed guest book will be hanging on a wall, exposed to many years of light, it would be a very wise choice. A very nice selection of archival pens (and I'm not talking Sharpie here) can be found at any scrapbooking store or dept. Im told that the Creative Memories brand pens are used by the Library of Congress because they supposedly never fade. They come in every color imaginable, too.
  2. Robert, I too have a 20D and have experienced the same problems keeping everything organized. I have found that using the canon software takes a little less time to save than the PS, which might be optimal if your not editing every shot. I hate to say it, but it sounds like it's time for you to get down and dirty with your folders, and keep a sharp eye on how you label and where things (want to) save. Personally, I label everything by location... but that just works for me and how I shoot. To keep things from getting to junky, even on a spacious hard drive, I almost always end up burning older files to disk and taking them off the computer for good. Hope you find what works best for you... most of us are still trying ;)
