1. Hi guys -

Can anyone save my Kiev 4 from becoming a paperweight? After I had

shot my first roll, I found I couldn't wind back the film - on opening

the camera I found that even with the rewind button depressed the

uh...thingy...the take-up spool connects to will not wind backwards.

The two sprocketty wheely things go into reverse no problem with the

button depressed, but the thing that winds on the take-up spool is

stuck fast. As you can tell from my description of the problem, I have

broad mechanical experience, but this has me stumped. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Gavin.

  2. Thanks for the advice guys. Just to explain the situation a little more, tomorrow I`ll be going into a shop to exchange a camera for one of two Rolleiflexes. I only know that one is a 3.5 and the other a 2.8, so I`ll have to make a decision on the spot as to which to take. I`m trying to learn all I can about all the models and what to look for but I`ve struggled to find any concise comparative information. Based on your advice and what I`ve read though, I guess I should take the one that is in best optical and mechanical shape regardless of model.

Thanks again for the opinions,

    Gavin.

  3. Hi there -

    Just a quick question - I have a choice of a Rolleiflex 3.5 or 2.8,

but I don`t know exactly which models they are yet (E, F or

whatever). All other things being equal, which is more highly

regarded? Is the 3.5 planar/xenotar any better than the 2.8, or

should I just opt for the faster lens? Any other important

differences between the cameras? I`ve found it difficult to find

    info on the net.

    Many thanks,

    Gavin.

  4. Hi there folks -

Can anyone tell me what might be going on when all shutterspeeeds on

an OM-2SP appear to be working right, but when you fire the shutter

on 'bulb' the shutter opens and closes even though you are holding

down the shutter release? Tmeter seems to be working ok. I don't

have the camera so I can't provide any more info!

    Thanks,

    Gavin.
