  1. Nobody says the body is not important but there is no denying the lens is what determines the quality of the picture, not the camera which held it in place. The vision of the photographer is also bounded by the limitation of the lens in front of his camera. The photographer can only shoot what the lens sees. It doesn't matter whether he/she has a 1v or F5, if the lens can't see it, he/she can't shoot it.

     

    I have the impression that most people care more about the camera body. Very often when we see a photographer, we look at his camera. While there is nothing wrong with this sort of mentality, the emphasis should not be on the body but the lens!

     

    To prove my point, I would rather have a R2k + 28-70L than to have an EOS 1v + consumer equivalent of the same zoom. I would make the same choice over a hundred times over, anyday.

     

    Given the same technique, tripod + cable release + stopped down etc... �the picture from the L zoom would be better than the pictures taken with the 1v but with consumer zoom.

     

    What good is a 1v/f5 without a good lens?
