  1. Thank you for taking the time... I have shot this church a number of times but it's not often I get clouds like these and as for the tilt... I find it adds a little tension to the photo... being too level is a bit like being too centered... rule of thirds but in three dimensions...
  2. Comments welcome and encouraged... I'm thinking of cropping part of

the left side of the image but I like the bush and the line of the

hill going behind... plus I don't want to lose too many of those

    clouds... any opinions?

    Star Trails

This worked out very nicely, first attempt or not. I assume the trees are lit by flash in the foreground? I'm wondering how this worked out so well with a 10d? I've been told exposures that long with a digital heats up the ccd and causes incredible noise. Most of the pwople I've seen attempt star trails digitally stack multiple shots. Well done one way or the other. I personally prefer star trails offset from the polar area.
  3. I like it... it could almost be two different photos... the older man in the foreground appears to be giving advice, possibly to the young groom, and his wedding ring is highlighted by his hand gesture, highlighting his experiance in the matter... Meanwhile the young man in the background sneaking a kiss is indicitave of the joy and freedom of love, and likely not pondering the sober thoughts being explained by the fatherly figure in the foreground...

    Night Church

Next time I'll use a smaller aperture... and hope for a clear night

with no moon soon... the bright moon that night and a 70 min

exposure resulted in the church looking like a "daytime" shot...

still... I thought it made a pleasing composition...
