1.
Hi,
Having a A-900 for a couple of weeks and after doing some tests I found that at least SAL 24-70/2.8, Minolta 20/2.8 are working well. According to a few samples the Minolta 80-200/2.8 APO holds up well.
Here are some full size images (click on original for high quality full size JPEGs)
http://www.pbase.com/ekr/a900_test
Michael Reichmann at Luminous Landscape is using a couple of A900s with the following lenses and has favorable opinions:
Sigma 12-24
Sigma 50-500
SAL 24-70/2.8
SAL 70-300G
SAL 50/1.4
SAL 500/8 RF
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/cameras/a900-one-month.shtml
As a side note, very few lenses are sharp over the entire frame when fully open.
Erik

  2. Sorry, I like your pictures, can't help.

Now, the reason may be that you take pictures which are, well, perfect. Essentially the kind of pictures we all

would like to have. Something may be missing, perhaps, but you are overwhelmed by the perfection. Technical

quality is, in a broad sense, the kings new clothes. You see the quality.

It's a little bit like Ansel Adams's pictures, they have a great quality in many senses, if you could disregard

    the qualities like,

    - Choice of light

    - Composition

    - Postprocessing

what remained would possibly be less impressive. Now you happen to photograph wildlife, something essentially

admired by anyone. Any halfway decent picture of animals would get an applause! Now add the visual excellence of

your photography and the applauses get even louder.

    Best regards

    Erik
