glenn: thats the one i need!!!!
martin: txs, will check your idea

-

martin, my ballhead looks like yours, except that the top-head can be unscrewed to change from 3/8 to 1/4 - if you have the screw. i dont. the screw looks like the one on the drawing

-

no, i have checked - nothing there

-

no, the ebay-items are just adapters. what i need is in facht a 3/8 screw, milled down on the other and to 1/4 and with a special kind of bayonet in the middle, that secures the whole screw inside the head of the leitz-head

i got a leica table-tripod with the big chrome leica ballhead as a gift, the ballhead is the latest version leitz made, the one with the black-plastic-knob. problem is: the screw to fit a camera on it is missing. anybody out there who knows where to get one? its 3/8 on one and 1/4 on the other end. (see picture)

the black dots also symbolize with their different size the wide open or the closed aperture

thanks all. i now disassembled the lens, only to find out, that a ring inside was broken and blocks the distance ring. i will send it to a voigtlander-repair-expert here in vienna.

a friend of mine gave me his color-skopar 2,5/35 in leica m39 mount, which has a strange problem: the distance ring is sometimes blocked at the 3m position, if you turn it slightly it will get free again and focuses to infinity. however the rangefinder-cam will only move at distances from about 2m to ifinity. if you turn the distance ring, you can feel that something is slightly loose inside the barrel. my question: how do i open the lens? from the back? i have spanner, wrench etc, but would be glad if someone can point me in the right direction, with pictures, drawing a manual or so. any hints?

i do have the tools, but would like to have a manual or the like, which describes how to get to the lenses inside - one has a fairly big hair on it that shows up on the poictures and i need to clean it. any hints where i can find a manual or so on the web?

the best is ballistol, a kind of oil for weapons, made out of herbs. you can even drink it if you have problems with your stomach.

20 degrees is okay, do not pull more

dear all, thanks for your support. after checking the service manual i gave up and ordered a metz 28 flash - it is here now and works better than the built-in flash. case closed :-)

dear all, alas (or thanks god) i live in austria. and i really would like to repair it myself, as the cost of professional repair is probably more than a new used d40 and i would like to save some money here.

dear all
the flash on my daughters d40 stopped working - it retracts when needed but does not fire. does anyone know what the culprit could be? i assume the flash-tube is broken. do you have a repair manual and a source where to get a spare part? e*bay is full of spares for the d40, but alas, no flash. any help appreciated

when the lens for my 500c/m stops at the infinity mark, the picture is alas sharp only at about 5 meters. its definitively the lens, as all other lenses i have focus correctly with that specific camera. i know how to hold a screwdriver and have repaired a few cameras myself. i have been told that the focusing-barrel may be out of whack and can be adjusted. does anyone out here have instructions as how to correct it?

a no-brainer: rolleiflexes haver documented the news around the world for more than two decades. the russians took a kiev up with them in the orbit - thats why there are no photos. the rolleiflex 3,5f is among the two, three best 6x6 cameras ever built, nobody was ever sorry buying one.

by all means get a maxwell screen - they are as bright as lifelike, youll love it. just dont call bill, he will talk life in a dead donkey, just send him a mail

-

to the Pentax-fans here: the Pentax SV is said to have a very good viewfinder: how does it compare to that on a spotmatic? is it really brighter?
