I thought you had to turn that funtion on in Custome Functions?

I have this Sigma 105 lens and the Sigma 1.4X converter and "No", you cannot use the converter, because the back lens element physically hits the converter element! I haven't tried extension tubes, but think they are okay, as there aren't any lens elements in the converter. Sharp lens though.

I had a card reader that would sometimes only extract the first portion of the images on the CF card, then give an error saying the images are no longer accessible from the card. Then, switched to a different reader with the same CF card and it was fine. After more testing, I found the card reader was faulty and threw it in the trash.

Simply connect another lens and if it works normal, then problem is with the rental lens.

I know this is a 4 year-old post, but:
My neighbour has the same camera with the Compur (Tessar 1:6.3f 130m Carl Zeiss Jena) lens combo, so may not be a retrofit. We are in Canada and I saw somewhere in my on-line research that this one was made in Canada. It doesn't seem to be very common though, as this forum posting is one of the few I've seen. She was wondering what it was worth, so I'm researching that for her. I see most other "No. 1A Pocket Kodak" cameras going for $10 to $30, but wonder if this combo worth more?

FYI
Turns out that it was a faulty replacement foot. Good thing I had bought 2 of them! So, looks like the Red to center contact and Black to the ground contact is the correct wiring.

Hi Tom,
Did you order one of those replacement feet for your 285? I finally got around to installing the replacement metal foot (w/ external sync connection and test button) I had bought on eBay about 2 years ago! I opened up the 285 and found 4 wires (red, black, green, white), but the replacement foot only has 2 contacts! So, since no installation instructions w/ the foot, I searched all over the web and found 3 different postings in various web sites saying to connect the RED wire to the center contact and the BLACK wire to the other contact (negative) of the replacement foot and to tape up/not use the GREEN and WHITE wires. Did that and the test button fires the flash, but the external sync connection seems dead. Just wondering if you did this fix and had everything work?

Hi Darren. Did the eBay replacement foot have the external sync connector and test button too? Here's my story: While we're talkin' Vivitar 285HV flashes ......
Canon Error Codes Revealed

Direct from a source at Canon, we have the basics to shed at least a tiny bit of light on the various error codes Canon is using for the 5D Mark II and beyond. While none of these error codes reveal enough information to allow you to do repairs on your own, any amount of information can be comforting when dealing with these errors if they occur.
10 - Malfunction related to files has been detected.
20 - Malfunction related to the mechanical mechanism has been detected.
30 - Malfunction related to the shutter has been detected.
40 - Malfunction related to the power source has been detected.
50 - Malfunction related to the electric control has been detected.
60 - not used on 5Dm2
70 - Malfunction related to images has been detected.
80 - Malfunction related to the electric control of images has been detected.
90 - not used on 5DM2
These error codes relate specifically to the 5D Mark II but our source says they probably apply "across the board to all cameras after the 5D Mark2."
