Ratings are interesting to consider in a lot of ways. First - there aren't a lot of people who leave ratings, so differences in opinion, and petty grudges have large impact. There are no real guidlines in how to rate either. Perhaps more of an issue for those who seek to rate or have nudes rated - but ratings have seem to be very far from based on the actual aesthetics or technical aspects of a photo and more based on community 'clique' or the aesthetics of the model.
So, as we bring ratings back - ratings should really be open to everyone - even non authenticated users. Ratings should be broken down not just on category of image, but should be broken down on the aspects of an image that we'd like to rate - i.e. composition, originality, overall impression, etc. Display ratings results across category of users giving the ratings as well - so each rated image gets a scorecard ratings view:
Unauthenticated visitors | Non paid members | Paid members | Paid members with average ratings
in top 10% of site images in last month
Composition 6.3 5.4 5.9 4.2
Originality 5.2 6.2 6.3 6.2
Overalll impression 5.1 5.3 4.9 4.4
Ugh but table formatting attempt sucked here.
Letting unauthenticated users rate involves them in the site, and should lead to a growth in membership. Breaking out categories adds a layer of thinking to the ratings that should be there - and spam filtering by removing ratings by anyone always leaving the same scores in different categories.

Glenn,
Definitely appreciate the updates you're providing and seeing the improvements coming out of the dev team with fixes. It's good to see the progress.

Membership information still lost - 'lifetime' membership and still being told to upgrade to 'premium'
Unable to share images to other sites or in messages with friends. Used to be billed as a feature of the site to host images for linking elsewhere.
How to disable or change the 'bubble' image - why on a photo site should any image other than my own work be shown when someone is viewing my portfolio?
Feature suggestion: Allow users to set the color scheme for anyone viewing their portfolio/galleries - blues, purples, oranges - ICK! What a complete visual mess.

Do we have a place as a community where we can report bugs and browse to provide addition information or upvotes to priority?
-
Mostly no - because the site requires logging in with a paid membership to see anything nsfw, and without the right click ability to get the image url itself, it's not easy to pass that to a friend or post on facebook to bypass that.

Ok... so one of the things that made photo.net great for me was an ability to upload images here and share to a facebook page or reddit post, or even just a link to friends in a chat. Especially useful for things that are not facebook friendly. This was once an actual advertised feature of membership to this site.
With the old design - I used to be able to simply share the page url and all was good. Now however, there are content restrictions and no ability to even get around that with the image url due to the moronic choice to 'disable right click' (there is absolutely no circumstance that a site should be able to override program functionality on my own computer and the idiocy doesn't do anything to stop anyone from saving images - so please, just turn that stupidity off). I don't expect my friends or audience to join photo.net to see images that I post - that's a bad choice for everyone.
So - how do we get things back so that I can share images I've uploaded to photo.net with friends and post links on facebook for things I can't upload there?

Thanks Glen

So yet again in the upgrade attempt - membership information is lost. I'm being prompted to upgrade to premium though I paid for a lifetime subscription.
