Great capture. The only thing that I would say could make the pic better would be a tighter crop. The white sky is a bit distracting. But I love the detail of the animal's features that you've captured.

Isaac Nope your comments not taken as nit picking. When you said take one step to the right bride's right or my right?
Yes Flash is allowed in this church, no assumptions made but I don't want to take alot of flash during the ceremony. This is actually the pastor's daughter and he will be doing the ceremony next Sat. night. We were just trying to get some nice bridal posed shots out of the way before that day since that was the only complaint my brother's wife had when I did their pics was not enough of her. I had more complaints about them than she did but that's another story. When I have the 50 on it seems I have to get so far back that her face seems to be lost. For the ceremony I was going to use the tripod and the f4 and maybe no flash. Thoughts?
I'm trying to make sure I get a full length that I have have made into a large print and have it framed as my family's personal gift since I've watched this young lady go from a child to adulthood.

I'm looking for some suggestions and critiques regarding this
shooting. This is a picture I took yesterday of a young lady for a
pre-bridal session. I'm doing the wedding for her and she is more
than willing to pose and allow me to practice. This is my
4th "serious hobby shooting" for a friend or family.
The lighting in the church is hard and I don't have umbrellas or
strobes or any of that yet.
Equipment I have is Canon EOS Digital Rebel, Canon 50mm 1.8, Canon
18-55mm stock lens, Canon 28-90 4/5.6, Quantaray 28-200 (don't like
this lens try to avoid using) Canon 70-200 f4. Quantaray qdc 900 wa,
Lumiquest Pocket Soft Box & Pocket Bounce, stroboframe, monopod &
tripod.
I used the 18-55 lens & the pocket soft box for this shot. I don't
usually use this lens but when I tried the 50 I couldn't get enough
light to her. I have horrible problems using the flash (it's on the
list for replacement but can't do that now.) Seems all the full
length shots I take don't quit get it. So I favor the 3/4. Should I
use the 50 and the bounce?
Any suggestions would be most appreciative. We're actually taking
some more this evening.

nice reflections

IMO, this is a sweet shot. I like the feeling and expression of the photo from looking at the groom's face. Most of the time the pics are always of the bride as well they should be but to capture the groom in this sweet manner, I think will be cherished by the bride as well.

At my children's band competition, this section of trumpets had
taken their hats, horns and gloves and lined them up on the ground
as they were preparing for the competition. I thought it would make
a good shot. Due to the their location and distracting backgrounds,
I did have to manipulate it in photoshop. Let me know what you think
and how it might be improved or if you think it is a nice shot.

Thanks for all the comments. This was the first photo that I've really worked on in Photoshop. The original photo had a flat sky, no trees on the left side and the detail under the porch was way to dark. I was going for a spooky warm sort of feeling.

This was a shot I took a few years ago before becomming more serious
about the photos. Know the date stamp is a bit distracting but other
than that what do you think of the composition and colors captured.

Love the reflection and colors and the setting.

great shot

Great shot. I agree with the other comment about the sky. There's too much blue sky.

This was a house on Arkansas Scenic Hwy 7 that had a sign on the
sign "Country Palace". Please let me know opinions on the photo.
