Fantastic concept and very well executed. Just a beaten up old box but your lighting makes the shot. Well done indeed.

This is a single 1/2 second exposure using two Speedlites, both
firing at 1/64th power. Levels and USM adjustments and a few
distracting white specs removed from the black area.

I used an empty cup with a piece of tissue paper on top to get the
timing right. This was the first shot with liquid. Subsequent shots
got more and more messy.

There has been a small flock of these in the neighborhood. Thanks
for looking.

The top of the background is a little unfortunate but the rest of the background and the bird are just outstanding. The wing position couldn't be better and the exposure...perfect. It's unusual for a mallard picture to be attention grabbing but this most certainly is.

Very clever. Thumbs up.

Nice shot. A tighter crop on the right side would work better.

Was this a touch and go? The plane's already in the air over the deck so it seems like it's not a cat. launch?
Nice picture.

Chad, I like the concept a lot. There's lots of storytelling going on here. A couple of quick thoughts: (1) I'd like to see the ring tack sharp going for softness in the ring before softness in the hands; and (2) The fabric in the bottom right corner is a bit distracting but I'm not sure of the solution to that. Simply removing it will leave a rather large and probably equally distracting negative space. Maybe change the camera position a little, showing more of the baby's thumb?
Nice work.

Fair enough. I disagree, so, do tell, what would you do differently?

Taken in a shopping area in Shanghai.

This is, without any doubt, the best tern picture I have ever seen. Terns are quick little buggers and, from what I've seen, not easy to capture in an original way. This is original, it's a touching moment and the lighting is very nice. Congratulations on an outstanding picture.

Yep, I think it looks much better this way. I'd say if you're going to do any PS with this then maybe just a little vignetting to take some of the light off the hands. Nice shot.
