Hi All,
I would like some advice on a technique I have seen quite a lot recently.
One of my favourite photos using this technique, is by Steve Bloom: unfortunately this is the best version I could find here
This might be something common, which means I am a complete newbie! People have recommended topaz plugins to emulate, and I just cant get the same affect.
Its subtle, or, strong enhancements to localised areas of the image. For example this image just has the blue shed 'in focus' on the image.
Does anyone have good tutorials on this?

exporting to DNG with ProPhoto colour space and then converting the RAW image to sRGB in photoshop seems to make the shift in saturation less, new image here http://www.photo.net/photo/10809667

-

great thanks...it would be helpfuul if you could view in sRGB within lightroom so your web based exports looked as intended!

-

sRGB...so the image in lightroom has the right amount of saturation etc, but the exported doesnt!

-

thanks for all the responses...i have uploaded the photo to my portfolio here: http://www.photo.net/photo/10809213 this is considerably desaturated compared to what i see in lightroom at present.
Is there any basic settings i can change my monitor to, or change in lightroom, so what i am working with whithin lightroom will look exactly as the exported image...i am disspointed with the exported result!

Thanks Dan, excuse my ignorance but what is the big difference between sRGB and Adobe?

Hi there,
I am looking for some help. I took a shot last night and noticed that it looks great on my mac but dark and murky on my girlfriends PC. I am well aware of the difference in colour space between mac and PC, and different Gammas. However, I would like some advice on how to adjust the image so its pleasing on both mac and PC monitors.
Does anyone have specific settings they use in Lightroom and Photoshop to overcome this?

thanks for the posts guys...i've done some research on it and understand the pro's cons. i've seen some terrible images, you only need to google hdr to see some horrors!
although a beginner, landscape photography is my main focus and i think black and white is a more interesting subject

-

thanks for the responses all. im just reading up on HDR now!

is this a method which the photography camp is divided on? i.e. some love it/some hate it?

-

all...thank you for your replies! very helpful...

i've seen this type off effect quite a lot and was interested in how it was done.
