  1. It is a mesmerizing picture. To me it looks like an old print or slide with faded colours. It is like if I was looking at an image of a lover that was taken many many years ago, trying to remeber her name.
  2. After WW2, Germans were forced en masse to leave their homes in

    border areas of Czechoslovakia and never return. This grave (and many

    more) was left behind in what is now the Czech village of Nove Hute

    in Sumava National Park. Long neglected, the grave is now maintained

    by surviving relatives during brief visits from Germany.

    Lars is very good at mixing caipirinha. Picture was taken at Lars's

    place in available light only - from a large floor-to-ceiling window

    on his right. Do you like it?

  4. The modern, concrete-built Berkeley Library of the Trinity College,

    Dublin, stands next to the old stone building of Thomas Burgh's

    Library. The old and new libraries form the background to a

    sculpture by Arnaldo Pomodoro called 'Sphere with Sphere' (1982-83).
