I have an old 500 EL. I put in a new screen and have had no problems with this camera. I love it. I am old fashion and like the older equipment much better. I am very happy now to learn that Hassleblad had finally made modern batteries with no "memory" . They are now available at your Hassleblad dealer at $79 each. No need to have the expensive conversion to AA.

Good News:
Hassleblad now sells modern batteries for the old 500EM. They are about $79 each. They do not have a "memory" like the old ni-cads and are more modern in design. You camera dealer can order them for you from Hassleblad.

I bought a 50 Bay to 58mm step up ring. Now I can use any of my 58mm filters on my Hassy.

I use my 500C only when on a tri-pod. It's the best for 6x6. When hand holding, I use a Mamiya 6. It handles like my Leica but what a negative it has. The images from the Mamiya 6 are great. I got rid of my Mamiya 7 in favor of the Mamiya 6 because of the 2 extra exposures on 120 and 4 more on 220. Don't have to worry about horizontal or vertical format. These two cameras make life a dream. I like the 500c better than my old Rollie because I like seeing throught the lens and having the capability to attach my trusty 150mm Sonnar to it.
