Hi have to say this is a very captivating portrait.  The model's intense gaze is somehow augmented by the bright area, which is like a searchlight from behind.  Very well conceived with the background.

A very stable composition. I like the depth created in what is otherwise flat light by objects at different distances starting with the branch at upper right and reaching out to the cottages in the distance. This shot really evokes the gloomy mood I've experienced of Scandinavian winters.
