<p>I have two P-2000s, and I don't have any problems with storing or viewing 40D images on the P-2000. You can only view RAW images full frame, not expanded, but that's been true of the P-2000 for RAW images from the beginning. Bottom line - works fine for me.</p>

From sad experience, the answer is "No". The Extender extends too far out in front to connect to the lens. I used a small extension tube between to make it fit, but then you lose infinity focusing, plus other problems. I gather that the sigma extender does work, but have not tried it.

The texture on this tree was both varied and incredible. Again it has been awhile, so I can't guarantee results.

I don't use a case quite as big as the 1600, and can only speak from my experience flying within the U.S., but I lock the case I have with combination locks that the TSA can open (got them from Brookstone) for inspection. I use two locks and two different combinations. Knock on wood, no problems so far, about 15-20 flights. TSA does put a blue plastic ring on the case if they open it, and that has happened to me a couple of times.
