Very well spotted indeed! It took me a while to sort out what is actually being seen. You have made the most of it.

I find this picture quite amusing. It is well seen and composed. It's nice to see how that guy doesn't seem to care about the noisy traffic around him. Well done!

Yes, a beautiful picture. Looks a bit as if the Babooshka didn't pay her gravity bill :-).

A real cracker, Mr McCracken :-). This is a perfect execution of a very nice idea.

Looks like a really classic b&w picture in the style of Doisneau, Sieff etc. Well composed, perfect contrasts, I like it a lot.

Hi Richard,
your picture took my attention, because there seems to be lots of potential in it. But I'm afraid you could have done better.
I think you should have tried to make a step or two to the left, so that the lamp post and the tree wouldn't obstruct the band stand. I guess it's difficult to maintain the man's position, so that the lamp wouldn't grow out of his head then.
I wonder if it would have been worth waiting for the man to look at the band stand instead of out of the frame. He makes me wonder what can be seen there. Also, the house in the upper right corner is distracting and should better be avoided.
But I reckon this is merely a grab shot, and not a bad one.

I like this effect a lot. The rocks look pin sharp, while the water's blur seems to be just right. Also the colours are perfect. This is truly a great picture.
By the way, I have a calender here on my desk, which shows about the same view from just a few steps higher. That picture is okay, but yours is much better.

The good: excellent sharpness and depth of field. Vibrant colurs, good lead-in lines to aid a nice composition. You made the most of a clear morning, as it seems. The bad? There's nothing to complain about.

Could have been a nice picture, as colours and composition are fine, but it is not at all sharp, is it?

I like it. You have captured the mood very well. The picture is full of tranquility.

I like this shot quite a lot. The light is beautiful, the sun is placed nicely in the frame, and I like the boat.
The resolution is not big enough for the large view. How did you actually produce this picture? Is it a crop from a full frame, is it stitched together or taken with a panoramic camera?

Very well captured, beautiful light and timing!

I'm not a big fan of digital manipulation at all. But if it is used so intelligently and perfectly like in this picture, I really appreciate your work. You have succeeded with your plans, because it took me a third look to recognize what is actually shown in the picture.
So I wish you good luck for your exhibition. Where will it be shown?
Regards (Hals- und Beinbruch!),

This shot is just perfect. There is nothing that can be improved. The light, the composition, the right moment, everything comes together in this image. Wonderful picture.

I like this unusual portrait format. The lighthouse is placed nicely. There is not a lot foreground interest, but well enough for my taste. This picture shows quite clearly, what I like about the sea. A nice one.

This is a near perfect picture. Wonderful light, great composition, beautiful landscape, nice reflections. What more could one ask for?

I like this photo. The composition is nice, you have lots of foreground interest, the sky is beautiful, and the amount of contrast looks perfect.
Where is Brignogan? In Britanny (Bretagne)?

I do agree with most of the above statements. This is a wonderful picture, probably one of the best on photo.net at least. I am a great fan of monochrome pictures. The subtle tones of the people on the beach in the background are great. And the lonely person is exactly in the right place. I love it a lot.

Very well done, excellent composition. The minimalistic approach brings out a beautiful picture. The little white spot left of the tree seems a bit annoying, as it detracts the viewer's attention to find out, what it is? (What is it, actually?)
I'm not sure if the picture could even be improved by cropping half of the space at the bottom between the picture's edge and the path. Just an idea.

Great sky, wonderful light. I'm not sure if the picture is really sharp, is it? And the composition seems a bit unbalanced. My eye comes to rest on the rocks in the distance, while there is not much detail that holds the attention.
But I like the picture anyway, because the golden light on the rocks is so appealing, and the sky adds drama.

Moods like this are the reason why I like november. The composition is unspectacular and fits well to the landscape. Well done. Regards, Heiko

I even like the noise. I think it adds to the mood of a great picture. I feel inevitably drawn back to this summer's vacation in Ireland. Whereever this picture was taken, I like it a lot.

Hello again,
most of the follow-ups of my earlier comment put a big smile upon my face. I understand that this is kind of a feed-back forum, and one shouldn't participate in that, if he can't stand any different opinions. I learned, that most of the people who commented-on this picture liked it a lot. So take my congratulations for that.
For me, I tried to define, what photography is all about. I think there's no sense in putting wings on a pretty girl's back and placing her in an ancient frame with clouds in the background. You call this art, I don't. I prefer kind of a documentary approach to photography, and I don't like to see anything in the frame, that wasn't there at the time the shutter was fired. Two fine men, two fine opinions.
I admit that it might be me, who is just unimaginative. But with this lack of imagination it seems to me, that you, the artist, failed to raise enough imagination. Isn't it a bit easy to photoshop those wings and the girl and the other stuff together? (I don't mean technically, because you've obviously done a good job in mastering photoshop.) If you spotted a naked girl with wings on, sitting on a frame in reality and took the picture, then I would call this art.
Best regards to all of you,
Heiko
