<p>Gosh, reminds me of when the Meese report came out.</p>
-
<p>Seattle filmworks used to cut rolls from short leftovers from shooting movies. Nasty stuff. Take Fuji 400, Kodak Gold/Portra/PPF/PMC over it any day.</p>

The computer was frozen in years & years ago. I think it's contemporary of an i386.

If you have no use for pomobabble, don't cheapen yourself by passing- you'll get bitter and cynical about the
degree that you're working hard for and throwing ducats at. It'll Take years to realise it's value, and yours.
Happened to me (engineering).
Check out rick stolk and his almost daily squares at www.rickstolk.com, artist's statement at:
http://www.rickstolk.com/about.htm . He doesn't break out the shovel to explain empty pics, why should you?
A bit of shovel here:
From: http://photo-muse.blogspot.com/2007/03/uta-barth.html
>>From Uta Barth: In Between Places: "Deceptively simple, Uta Barth's photographic works question the traditional
functions of pictures and our expectations of them. By photographing in ordinary anonymous places - in simple
rooms, city streets, airports and fields - Barth uses what is natural and unstudied to shift attention away from
the subject matter, and redirect focus to a consciousness of the processes of perception and the visceral and
intellectual pleasures of seeing....
...Uta Barth provides a compelling look at the nature of our own experience. Her beautifully composed photographs,
most often created in places that seem somehow familiar, prompt our consciousness of visual sensations and a
deeper consideration of what looking really means.
...Barth has used photography exclusively in her aesthetic projects, experimenting with depth of field, focus and
framing to create photographs that are suggestive rather than descriptive, alluding to places rather than
describing them explicitly. Her interiors and landscapes engage the viewer in an almost subliminal way, testing
memory, intellect and habitual responses..."
If you feel that you must resort to pomobabble, go multimedia. Generate miles of pomobabble using the pomobabble
generator: http://www.elsewhere.org/pomo/ . Make an installation project scrolling pomobabble over a series of
your prints in a dim room. Next room same setup scrolling P.B. on a dusty mirror with a pin spot set to light the
viewers face at viewing distance. The viewer will see their face behind P.B. in the dust.
Oh. Nice pic. You shoot well.

Bought a Canon F 50 1.4 bout 2001 or 2, either UG or BGN- etched w/ a former owner's social security number, no other wear & tear. Bout 50 bucks, when FD glass went for more than the money in your sofa. Tack sharp baby.

You'll probably be in lots of direct sun at burning man. Use a flash to fill in the shadows. Look up fill flash.
-
Basic exposure:
Bright sun, shoot 1/ISO for shutter speed at F/16
open shade: F/11
Shadow: 5.6 or 8.
I used to have an exposure guide for all kinds of conditions in my camera bag. This looks good to:

Many people have answered the same question at length, the same way, several times. Once the novelty wears off they often refer people to previous answers.

I don't believe that Vista is supporting any legacy (not developed for vista) devices. I believe MS does not only not provide them, but restricts the info necesary to write them. Could be wrong, this is just based on early release reviews.

I don't think anything's wrong with it. More than likely you just have to press hard on the upper righthand corner of the back when you close it. Don't be afraid, just lean into it w/ your thumb till you feel it seat.

I shot the last roll of PPF 120 *ever* in october. Gotta drop it at the lab while they still run C-41

My kid plays with the camera. Have to see how he develops ;0)

I've shot two weddings, both friends, and been maried once. While you can brief them on
A. plan
B. sequence of events
C. shot list
A and B will probably go out the window, but you'll still want C. While there will be flexibility with regard to getting the posed shots & such, there is no rewind on the ceremony. Your shooter will have to be prepared for many layers of contingency and get plans B and C in motion without dropping a stitch or the F-bomb.
Really, I'd talk to the shooter and check out their work, see if you can see yourself in it. If you sense that their adaptable and sensitive to what you want recorded and how, I'd find that more qualifying than any lighting & shooting chops beyond basic skills.

The body is just an empty space that holds the film and lens apart. If the finder does what you need it to, and keeps the lens and film in the right place, the best thing the body does is get out of the way.
-
You can also use reflective surfaces as a fill source, or look for open shade.

Examination of Jeff Spirer's work will prove the sheer futility of shooting in Sunny LA or Mexico.

You might find the answer somewhere at <a href="http://www.normankoren.com">Normankoren.com</a> . The guy's a fiend.

Sanford,
How handy are you? I think sometimes the system picks up the old drive, sometimes no. When it does, the old one is considered dominant and takes priority, at least as far as roxio goes.
If you're feeling handy, I'd open the case (shut down and pull the power cord out first) and pull the power connector out of the back of the old CD (white connector, 5 colored wires, leave the ribbon cable be for now). Leave it that way, close up and restart. If you never have the problem again, you can remove/replace/ignore the old CD drive at your convenience. If you still have the same problem, put the connector back in and you're back at square one.
Warning, Your mileage may vary, XP may reshuffle drive letters, you may break something. I'm cavalier about messing with computers because I can pick up the pieces. Once you get to know them, it's just like legos.

Only good ones for me. They rate their stuff very conservatively. All the stuff I get from them is cherry, and I usually get the 'bargain' grade stuff. Not sure if I ever got an 'ugly' but I doubt it'd be that bad- probably still look better than most of my kit. I think they buy only from dentists and ophthalmololgists who buy a camera and shelve it after using it once, or engraving their social security number on it. Of course the piece is unocollectable at that point, but works perfect.

DOF preview usually works to force a stuck lens to whatever aperture you want as well.
-
If the old one's dead, try disabling in the device manageer.
-
The machined mating surfaces at the sensor/body interface would no doubt be as troublesome and error prone as the 'focal planes' I hear about from grizzled film veterans. I'll have to go to a old film bar and pump some of them for information.

I spend too much time on the internet.
DSLR-> sharing flow
in Casual Photo Conversations
Posted
I haven't used a SERIOUS CAMERA or photo.net since the death of film prior to the birth of facebook, and I just got the wife a pentax K50 for mother's day because it looked like a good price for a DSLR and who's gonna misplace a hot pink and yellow camera?
She wants to use it shoot sports and travel pics of the family and put stuff on facebook.
Is there an easy DSLR -> phone / tablet / facebook flow? The wifi SD card I thought would be good for this is so far not good for a few reasons.
Solutions that don't mean dragging a laptop around are best.
Thanks
