    Wild Lupines

          1

On a late afternoon walk, I encountered these lovely flowers next to a site slated for the

construction of a huge home improvement store. I suppose these flowers and the field they

were in are long gone... Thanks for viewing.

  1. Thank you all for your comments. Usually, my photographs are very vibrant and the above photo is a depature for me as I am experimenting with various photography styles. I actually played around with B&W as well but doing so washed out the tracks rather than make them stand out.

    Friends

I encountered this group of friends in Holland where they were taking a long weekend at the

beach. It was cold but spirits were high. Thanks for viewing.

    Buddha's Head

          1

Anyone who's ever visited Ayuttahya has probably walked past this Buddha's head framed by

tree roots over the course of centuries. I thought it quite beautiful and hope you do, too.

    Thanks for viewing.

    Oxcart Wheel

          2

Oxcarts have played an important role in Costa Rica's history and are still utilized in some

rural parts of the country. Traditionally, oxcarts were decorated in virbant colors and designs

    - such as this one, given that the owner could afford to do so. This photo, of course, is just

the wheel - but the entire cart looked like this. Thanks for viewing.

    Colonial Door

          2

Colors play such an integral part in Central American life and this door and frame on a

Colonial House in Antigua, Guatemala summarize local attitudes regarding the interplay of

color and architecture. Thanks for viewing.

    Fisherman's Hut

          1

On my way north toward Newfoundland's Gros Morne National Park, I happened upon this old

hut as I was taking a break. I just loved it and hope you like it, too. Thanks for viewing.

  2. Hi Dennis - thanks for commenting. I believe that European cathedrals seem so stark to me because I am more accustomed to their Central American counterparts - which tend to be filigreed and colorful. I suppose the above photo is an apt rendition of my perception.

    Barrels

          1

There are quite a few vineyards along the Rhine River in the Rheingau area of Germany. These

barrels were displayed at a vineyard in Eltville. Thank for viewing.
