Thanks Eric. Yes I understand, it is just that the difference between jpeg and raw from the LX3 is much bigger than it is with my other camera (Canon 350D, Rebel XTi).

I experience significantly more noise with raw files from my LX3 than I do with jpegs when opening them with either Lightroom or Photoshop Elements. Any suggestions/explanations/... Much appreciated.

Thanks guys. Anyone has any experience in comparing Olympus E-P1 and Sigma DP2?

John, are any of the pictures you show on your site taken by the G-10?

Thanks guys. As to Kari's remark, he's right. A superzoom is not that important to me. I do want a very very good lens though.

I find myself shooting less because carrying a DSLR with 1 or 2 additional lenses sometimes is a burden. So what I am looking for is a very good compact digital camera. Leica is no option because of the price. I have been browsing some of the reviews here and other sites on the Sigma DP series, the Olympus Pen, Canon PS G10, Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1. I would be interested to hear any experiences and/ord advice from PNmembers. Thanks.

Hi there. I am looking for a good tripod for my 350D. Any suggestions? I don't
know where to start. Thanks.

I am still hesitating between these two lenses for my 350 D (Rebel XT). I have
been able to test the Canon 17-40 for a couple of days and it looks alright.
The Tamron does get excellent reviews as well, is cheaper and I can do
portraits with it as well at 50 mm (x1.6). Does anybody have experience with
both of them? Any recommendations? Thanks a lot.

Thanks Christian. Price range up to 750 EUR. Does not have to be very fast, does not have to be a Canon lens.

I have recently bought a 350 D, that comes with a kit EF-S 18-55 lens. I can
see the excellent qualities of the camera but the lens does not do it justice.
The EF 55-200 (f/4.5-5.6 II USM) that I have bought serves me well for the
purposes I need it. What lens would you suggest to me for replacing the wide
angle zoom? I like taking landscapes and portraits. Thanks for all your
suggestions.

Thanks, Peter, this is what it looks like.

My Dimage A1 produces a completely blurred, somewhat pinky image, both through
the viewfinder and the LCD screen. Anybody familiar with this problem and how
to solve? Thanks, Frank.

I have used Raw Shooter Essentials - which is absolutely free - for over 9 months to my full satisfaction. I can't think of a reason to buy anything. Find it at www.pixmantec.com;
