My first thought was of a very memorable scene in Almodovar's "Talk To Her." But regardless, excellent work, Chris.

The accident was very real, occuring on the lower slopes of the north glacier on Mt. Aberdeen in the Canadian Rockies. (The mishap is described in the 1995 edition of "Accidents in North American Mountaineering" on page 7.) The paragraph heading in ANAM -- FALL ON ICE, PLACED NO PROTECTION -- pretty much sums it up. Everyone in the involved party got banged up, but the victim pictured here got the worst of it, suffering compound fractures of the leg and elbow. She was evacuated by helicopter sling and, from what I've heard, made a full recovery.
Thanks, John, for your feedback.
