I am personally offended by this photo.   I do not deny the homeless issue, but it is not uniquely American.  Birte, perhaps you should point your camera inward at your home country first!

I like the extended exposure, but the lack of shadow detail in the upper half of the photo is bothersome.  I also think longer exposure to "soften" waves and clouds further would improve feeling.

I really like this. The ONLY thing that would have made this better is an ultra long shutter speed, which would have blurred the water, making it very surreal. Nice!

Great composition. Love the tonality. The highlights on the cross are wonderful!

I like the idea, but the overall image is flat. Highlights are blocked up, and there is not much depth in the shadows. I think cropping more off right side would have helped too.

Overall I like this shot. Great tonal scale. However, for my personal tastes, the square framing bothers me, and I would have preferred a liitle less of the dark foreground. It nearly dominates the picture. Cropping a bit off the bottom would not only create a more natural rectangular image, but help draw the eye upwards and into the valley. All in all, nice shot!
