  1. An excellent version of the classic Teton image. Exposure looks good, but I can see one composition nit right off the bat. The top of the Mt. Moran reflection merges with the foreground bushes. I want you to return to this spot immediately, but this time shift your position a few feet to the left so that the reflection fits the U shaped edge of the foreground bushes. Also arrive a little earlier in the morning, say.... sunrise or there abouts. Oh yeah, a moose would be nice addition also. Ya done good.
  2. When I first saw this I thought to myself, "This looks like a painting of Yosemite". The foreground shadows and stormy sky add drama to this. I ask myself "Is it the start or conclusion of a storm moving through the valley." Well done.

I really like the way you lit this as the shadowy area add to this in a pleasant way for me. The detail on the peatals (wrinkles) are fantastic. Don't know if you used the "Velvia" setting on the 10D with this one, but the colors are nice and vibrant without being overwhelming. The pink background in the upper right seems to be competing with the rose for attention. I would have reframed to isolate the rose with a green background. Well done.
  3. Sorry, don't have a scanner myself so I can't help with the scanning question. Hopefully Steve or someone can. My biggest nit with this image is that the left side meander of the creek is cut off. Try panning more to the left next time to get it all or use a wider angle lens. Morning or evening light would probably improve this as well. Did you use a polarizer? It doesn't look like it. It would've punched up the colors on this. Otherwise this is a nice image. I have yet to get a landscape image from Hayden Valley that I liked well enough to share. Maybe this year.
  4. Never critiqued a non-nature shot, but here goes. This image appears grainy, don't know if that's an artifact of the scan or the film. I like how the color of the clear part of the sky matches the color of the building. Cropping a little lower to eliminate the grey clouds at the top would have improved this. Or, zooming in a little tighter on the part of the building in the center and the right. Also, it appears to be a little underexposed. Try bracketing your shots in the future. There you go, a valid reason to return to Disney.
  5. I really like how you "painted" the hay bales with light during the exposure. Would love to try this technique, but not sure where to start. The orange/yellow complements the deep blue of the sky. Shining some more light on the tree in the left foreground would have been a nice touch as well. The tight framing of the hay bales adds an unpleasant cramped feeling to the photo.
  6. Nice Moose. I like his positioniong which looks more like the classic pose than my Moose shots. Would like to see a little more detail in the moose as he seems a little dark. Some fill flash would have brought out the detail better and put a catchlight in his eye.
  7. I like how you blurred the water, as the parallel streams add to the verticalness of the falls. The only nit is the lit bit of white sky showing at top center, but I don't know how you could prevent showing this without cutting off the top of the falls. The lush greens are like a nice natural border to the falls. Well done.
  8. I love photos of Grand Teton where a tight composition of the peak dominates the scene. This would have been really nice with a little more light on the trees in the bottom foreground to bring out their color against the blues and grays of the Grand.
