>I just recently purchased a very nice m-mount 50/2,8 Elmar. Not the latest version but it is the m-mount one, I think from the 60's or 70's. The focus is so smooth and easy that I cannot change the aperture without also moving the focus along with it---not just a little bit but completely.<
Hoooohooooohaaaaahaaaaa. Only a Leica dude would try and put a positive spin on a lens you cain't change the focus without changing the apature at the same time. Haw! You dudes are just so pityfull it hurts so much I'm laffin so hard.

>I hooked up a Metz 34 CS-2 to a IIIf RD, set the shutter speed at 50 and the flash went off. Then I noticed the dial below the shutter speed dial that I think has something to do with the flash setup. It's marked in increments from 20 down to 0. Should I just leave it at "0" or what is the best setting? Is the shutter speed "50" like an M?<
Try standing on you're head too, that'd make it even more trubble to take a shot. Sheesh, you dudes must relly like to suffer for you're supper.
>Before I put film through it, thought I'd ask.<
You specting to find anyone round hear that ever put film in there Leica, you set down in the rong pew dude.

Dude if your planing to shoot while your climing you otta be shure your a good enuf climer not to git yourself killed while your fussin with the camera. An you otta be shure your a good enuf photographer to risk gittin yourself killed for it.

The Copal square shutter in the Nikormats is good for 50 thousand shots and you cain't fix em or replace em when they go. So I wouddent be throughing good money away on fixin the meter.
-
Try chuking it up agins a wall, cain't hurt it none.

>I have recently purchased an M6ttl black with my graduation money / yes I am a generation Y leicaphile, one of the few if not the only. I now have around a thousand bucks to throw around on my new obsession and I was looking for advise on several lens combinations and accessories. Currently I?m the epitome of a leica fondler / I just sit around holding my expensive paperweight, looking at the cool frame lines, and listening to the shutter.<
If you was my kid I'd whup you're butt for not spending you're graduation money on a trip to Cancoon like a normal boy. Dude, you wanna get laid in colledge or not? Get yourself a camera cell phone like all the rest of you're frends got, cos you gonna look like a geke with that funky ol Leica.
-
>I just hope Leica stays on the outside whilst the others fight to the kill.<
Ain't no reason to belive Leica'll be on the inside now since they ain't bin in 40 years.
>An exit from the Euro, and Leica has a real chance of making it as a strong company again<
Ya so long as cow start flying that day.

>Whose is the longest continously owned Leica on Photo.Net?<
You shulda added "thats ever had film in it", youda got a lot less replys.

My granddaddy usta rattle on about the good ol days jus like Al, then hed drool and fall asleep.

Lesse now, it don't do but 2 fps and it ain't got autofocus so the sports shooter dudes an 99.9999999999999% of wildlife shooter dudes ain't gona be interested in it. It costs ten grand with a R9 and only does 10mp so the medium format landscape dudes ain't gona be interested in it. So whose gona buy it? Oh ya, the Leica Forum dudes! Hey thell pay ten grand for a mountain oyster so longs its gotta Leica dot on it!

FG's a amature cam that ain't made like the better Nikons, it ain't worth much nowadays, and theres a passel of em out there, along with all the other kinds. I woudent through good money after bad. Get yourself another cam.
-
That there 55mm 3.5 is one of the most sharpest lenses ever made. I dunno why everones assuming your only wanting a tele theres a passel a grate lenses for your Nikon F from 20mm on up. The 24 f/2.8 is a grate one, sos the 35 f/2. 105 f/2.5, 135 f/3.5, 200 f/2 and 300 f/4.5 are all grate too. 180 f/2.8 cain't hardly be beet. Aside from the erely zooms Nikon ain't made a bad lens, only the Leica dudes reckon theres are better then the rest an dont nobody take them jokers serius. KEH.com is probly the place to start looking.

Way back when the FA got some bad press on count of bugs in it an the astigma kinda stuck like a road apple to a boot. But I ain't seen nobody with nether one in a good long spell.

F4 v. F100
in Nikon
Nikon quit makin the F4 goin on 10 year ago an I ecxpect Nikon'll quit stockin parts for em soon an tell you theys "unreparable". Theres so much electonic crap innem that the privet repar shops probly ain't gonna be able to keep fixin em nether. The F100 is still in the cattlog so I reckon you'll still get em fixed for a good spell yet. -
Theres adaptors to fit Nikon lenses to Canon dslr's an the meters work in manual an apature priorty, cept they don't work the apature you gotta stop it down by hand. Its kinda funny how the meters work on Canons with Nikon lenses but not on Nikon bodys.
Rust corrosion on aperture blades of a 50/2 type 2 rigid Summicron, worrisome?
