I'm shocked to read this sad news.
My deepest condolence to Alberto's family and relatives. He has been a teacher and his work is like a well of inspiration for me.
rest in peace you'll be in our hearts! Fabio

Excellent glass Pat!
I use mine on my D70 following almost what is yet written,
Manual focus for macro from 1:2 to 1:1 Tripod or beanbag needed (unless you're steady as a rock or you're shooting at 1/1000 or more)
For close-up "the whole flower" you can go in autofocus (it's better to limit to avoid a full focus searching)
"A" settings for DOF control.
Remember that at 1:1 you cannot benefit of the 2,8 aperture the lens limits itself at 3.something.
I've also used on a film body as a general prime lens with very good results.
For portraits the lens is a bit too sharp, so unless you're photographing "silk skin" models be prepared for some postprocessing.
Happy shooting.

Googling on the Web I've found a Draganizer Action on

Yes,even in the most recent model the lens extend itself when focusing macro. It has never been a problem for me.
A very fine lens indeed.

I've noticed whith a couple of my pictures an increment of view
enormous, from 2000 to over 6000 in a few hours.
I'm wondering what's happening?

Hi Alan, the two images are way too soft (when looked 100%) but there is something weird: both the images are at a resolution that's more than the original resolution of the camera D70 = 6Mpx = 3000X2000
Your images are 4096 x 2723 (oversampled)
Obviously this adds softness to the picture. In any other case F16 is the maximum you can get with D70 before entering in the difraction area.

Regards Fabio
