I think the shoulder in the first picture is awful and really is not a shot a pro would be proud of. I believe the other two photos are definitely, of far better overall quality. Great job Marc and Botikario!

I spoke to a supervisor yesterday and she wasn't any more helpful. She did admit it was shame for something like this to happen so soon and that it doesn't happen to often with the PCB, put that aside it was still not a warrenty issue but just a repair job on a broken camera. So I'll be getting it back and can use it as a paper weight I guess. Now it's time to look out for a 1DmkIIs,n in good shape and move on.

Thanks Sarah ans Jos, I very much agree with the both of you. And Sarah, I will call back again and try pleading my case, I'll let you know if it works out. It's just erk's me when people gimmie that "oh well, that's too bad, what do you expect stuff"! Heck that camera was going to be my back up for at least a couple years I thought, no,,, I expected... And I bet Canon expects there products to last longer too! Unless of course their abused, which it wasn't. Thanks for your support

Thanks everyone for your input. I know stuff happens, I didn't expect it to last forever but 20000 clicks,,, come on thats nothing, no where near enough. I also have other Canon bodies that have been trouble free, my point is, they know it was a fluke with the equipment, the thing looks brand new, I take exceptional care of my gear. I have for the most part all Canon L glass and Canon bodies, and have been very satisfied. My palms don't sweat profusely or do I shoot in the rain. I can afford to buy another camera, which is what I will do. As a matter of fact I was looking when this happened, I have been trying to decide on which one to purchase, the new 5D or a used 1dmkIIn, so I'm still a believer in Canon equipment. I just wish they had been a little more accommodating and reasonable. When you trust in and believe in a product or a brand like Canon, I guess you expect more. Guess not! Thanks again guy's

I just got a repair estimate from Canon for my 1-1/2 yr old 30d approx. 20,000 clicks for $434.55 and another $58.48 for the grip they say has a bad electrical contact, thats $493.03 to get a relatively new camera repaired.

One day last month I put the grip on and I could smell something burning, well it was the circuit board in the camera the say. I told them that stinks, that a $1300.00 camera only last a year and a half. He just said, yeah sorry. I have bought thousands worth of nothing but mostly NEW Canon equipment and they treat there loyal customers like this. Would you get it fixed, is it worth it? I don't know what to do.

Thanks for the input Ton & Ziggy. I have also been using Lightroom pretty much most of the time myself these days. It seems to handle most of the things I need to do.I have been using it for about a year and I guess its growing on me. I am going to upgrade to Elements 5.0 maybe PS, we'll see. I deleted the other programs from my hard drive yesterday after backing things up on a external HD. I even got rid of about 50 GB of files if you can believe that. I knew what I was doing was not right but I just needed to hear it from someone else. As far as your 2 cents worth, it was more like a dime my freind. Thanks Guys

Also, does anyone know a very basic editing program that can be used with teen agers with limited concentration, if you know what I mean.
Picasa2, it's free and simple to use. My crew loves it.

OK, this has most likly been asked a hundred times or maybe not so here goes. I have Paint Shop Pro 9,
Photoshop Elements 2.0 , Photoshop Lightroom1.3, Picasa2, Zoom Browser EX and Canon Digital Professional on
my computer and I use each one here and there for one thing or another, but mostly I use Lightroom(for raw
processing) and Paintshop Pro 9 to do my editing but not so much anymore, shooting mostly raw these days. I do
use Picasa cus I like how easy it is to send photos via email and when I need to copy hundreds sometimes
thousands of pics on multible CD's for clients, it works so easy with Picasa.
My question is, is this normal or am I using up a ton of hard drive space by doing things this way. It seems like I
have a baotload of the same image copied in different file formats, Should I keep only the original file say in
Lightroom and the edited or finished product say in Elements, Paintshop Pro or Picasa?
Picasa does recognize when new pictures are downloaded with other programs and will automaticaly copy them to
Picasa, which I don't care for but haven't figured out how to stop this from happening. Should I remove the ohter
programs from my computer and only use two, or is having all these OK? Sorry if this sounds stupid which I'm sure it
does, but like the guy on the dock said to Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry,,,I gots ta know!

I have had this lens a few years and use it a lot. It's the non-IS version, It could have taken a hit I don't recall anything but maybe. Glen, thats the range mine gets stiff or sticky, also I can hear something,,,like rubbing?, looks like a trip to Canon is in order. Thanks

Just wondering if anybody has had a problem with the zoom on this lens
becoming jerkey, or it sticks while zooming in & out. I've never had a problem
before it just started last night. Thanks

All this full frame 5d vs 1.6 sensor, which lens to buy, which camera to buy, makes me NUTS! I have a 10d which I love; I just ordered (3 wk ago) a 5d I'm hoping I love as much "if I ever get it from Adorama". But reading all this info makes me crazy, crazy, crazy. You need to buy or rent something check it out and deal with the results by using it not reading about it forever. Sorry, I think I just had a meltdown or something, I need to go take some pictures now.

OK, so I wasn't dreaming! Thank's for all the information. I've ordered the mounts Bob suggested and will give it a shot or two.
Thank's again

I swear I read a post of someone who new of an adapter mount for
using the 300mm f2.8 Tamron MF lens on the EOS 10D with real good
results. Was I dreaming or can this not be done? I have both and was
just wondering how cool it would be if I could combine them. Thank's

I'm sorry, how rude of me! A poor choice of words on my part & I should have kept to myself as I usually do. Ian, judges, I apologize. Nice work to all!
