The concept of ratings is an excellent one and is helping me learn.
One thing I miss in the new changes to photo.net is not being able
to identify (via double clicking)the rating broken down by the
individuals who made them.
I can see the pro's and con's e.g. privacy as a pro. However, it
realy helped me to make my own judgement on the 'value' of those
rating me since I could look at their own work and see how I
considered their photo's (the low ratings as well as the high).
Additionally it enabled me to identify which other users I would
enjoy 'keeping an eye on' so that I could learn more.
Is there a way I can still do this?
Leica D-Lux 3 or Canon G7 for image quality?

I am presently in the same position as the original posting by Ricardo ... what to buy as a
backup compact. I too have been looking at the Leica D-LUX 3 since it seemed to read
well in reviews. Up till now, I have been using a FujiFilm E550 which frankly has given me
great results in terms of trade off for size vs control etc. I was seriously considering the
FujiFilm E900 as an upgrade on pixels etc ... Looking at the G7 specs I guess it really
comes down to how important it is for you (Ricardo) to stay with RAW ... that's why I wrote
off the G7 ... having read the strong support for G7 above and the negatives for Leica ...
I'm tempted to go back to my E900 thinking - check out this review http://
www.photoxels.com/fujifilm-e900-review.html. You will find the E900 has RAW and a
viewfinder.
