Recently, i've received a lot of critism about my photos regarding
how in focus they are. Everyone says they're just not quite in
focus. Now, i understand that the pinhole ones and the ones taken
with my diffusion filter are not supposed to be totally in focus,
but the other ones puzzle me. Could someone take a look at my
portfolio and tell me why some of these pictures are not in focus? I
would also be grateful if someone would tell me how i can fix this.
If this question sounds really dumb, bear with me, i'm still an
amateur and don't totally know what i'm doing. My portfolio is here:

What does everyone store their filters in? I just got a bunch of
filters but find that leaving them in their plastic cases takes up a
lot of room in my camerabag.

In two weeks i will be flying up to a university in Chicoutimi,
Quebec to study for five weeks. I'll have a lot of oppertunities to
shoot photos up there and i plan on spending lots of time with my
camera.
This is what i'm planning on bringing: my Nikon D70, my Nikon 18-
70mm 3.5-4.5 and 70-300mm 4-5.6 lenses, my tripod w/ ballhead and a
monopod, my polarizing, diffusion, and neutral density filters.
I will be doing mostly nature and perhaps a little city shooting
while i'm there. Has anyone shot in this area or know anything about
it? I'm an amateur and could you any tips or suggestions that you
give me.

Ok, i've pretty much decided to get it. I knew it was cheap, but i didn't realize that it was only $100.

I'm looking into getting a new, cheap lense for my Nikon D70 and a
friend of mine suggested i get a Nikon 50mm 1.8 lense. I'm wondering
if there are any third party lenses that are similar to this but
cost less. Also, is this really a good purchase? The lenses that i
have are a Nikon 18-79mm 3.5-4.5 and a Nikon 70-300mm 4-5.6.

I just went out and bought a bunch of new filters for my camera
including a polarizing filter, a diffusion filter, and a neutral
density filter. To be honost, i just got the neutral density filter
because they were on sale for two for one and i had heard things
about neutral density filters in books and magazines. After buying
it, i realized that i had no clue as to what the real purpose of the
filter was. Could someone tell me when you'd use it and what exactly
it does?

I'm currently saving up to buy a decent digital camera but I do not
know which one to get. I have a Sony DSC-S85 right now and I am
disapointed with its poor low light pictures. I do not want to spend
near or above $1000. At the moment, I am seriously considering
getting a Sony Cyber Shot DSC-F717 but some of the people I have
talked to say that Nikon makes better cameras. Should I get the 717
or is there a better camera that is around its price range that
would be a better purchase?
