An Urban Screech Owl in a Toronto city park. He was outside of his
usual tree cavity enjoying the sun one day, not bothered by me but
perhaps a little curious. The attractive cyprus tree he was in offered
some obstructions which I tried to use for framing. Comments
appreciated.

Sorry, didn't explain that well. There were reeds moving in front of the heron despite getting as close as I could. So, I used a long shutter speed to blur them as the wind kept moving them around, and voila, they disappeared.

This shot required gaining the trust of the Heron. I crept ever so slowly,
stopping for a few minutes and taking a few shots before moving a few
feet further. The bird was behind some reeds that were moving, so I
used a longer shutter speed to eliminate their movement. Thanks for
looking. Canon 100-400L/IS.

Not crazy about the handle being cropped at the top, but otherwise the shots & the tones are very nice.

Comments appreciated, was trying an underlighting technique on glass
and tried many light variations, liked the way this accentuated the
curves of the glass.

The closest I've come to Turkey Vultures, they were as interested in me
as I was them, comments appreciated.

While not excited to see summer wrapping up, I decided to take some
of the new season indoors and work with it. Thx for looking.

I was out for a hike, the scenery was mostly bland skies, rolling
hills, and a bit of a haze in the distance. I used a telephoto to put
this together and show the natural layers and zig-zag flow. Comments
appreciated, trying to broaden composition styles. Thx

A Great Horned Owl, hunting along the shore of Lake Ontario. Comments
appreciated. Taken with Canon 100-400L/IS from a fair distance on
slightly overcast day.

Very nice shot, sharp detail where it counts, nice fade of focus in the rear makes the subject "pop". Interested in how you got the shot.

Comments appreciated, I'm continuing to learn studio lighting and
technique. This was lit with simple "daylight" light bulbs on an
imitation leather background.

These tomatoes were grown from seed, a unique strawberry tomato
breed. I took a number of different shots at various depths of field,
liked the way this one turned out. See the folder for some different
ones. Tips appreciated, I'm trying to broaden my experience with
studio lighting and photos such as this. Thanks!

Agreed J.W., will definitely revisit this shot with some new technique and planning.

Thanks for the comments Cynthia and Michael! I was tempted to clone out the tag but it wasn't going to work so I left it, but next time I'll be more mindful of that.

I'm trying to learn how to work in a studio environment, Dexter is a
co-operative and cost-effective model. Tips appreciated!

Hi Allan. This dog's markings are identical to my own dog Dexter. He even has the partially black tail, and brown head as well as the body markings. Thought you'd like to see, take a look at my wildlife portfolio http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=385621

Thx Peter, good tips!

One of many Porsches I own :) Taken in a new studio setup, tips
appreciated, I'm pretty new to this style of shot.

See the folder this image is in for more, I can't decide which I like
the most. Shot indoors with a variety of different lights and camera
settings. Comments appreciated.

Taken indoors using sunlight and a black backdrop. I'd seriously
appreciate any feedback on how to make this better as far as
technical settings or approach, etc. Thanks!
