Excellent shot. I'd crop a bit of the space above and to the left of the runner, but that's being nit-picky. And who am I anyway?

 

I think you've got some of the most interesting and compelling images I've seen on this site in a while. Very striking and original. There are several that I could comment on, but I think this is one of my favorites for the lighting, the textures, originality, and beautiful simplicity. You've got a great eye and you seem to get around a lot.

 

There's a few things about this photograph that I really like. Good black & white contrast. Nice "aged" versus "youth" thing going on. There's also a nice "comfortable" feel to the image...I think it's because of both facial expressions, their body language, and the leaves on the old guy's sweater which he doesn't even seem to notice. Great portrait.

I like this image, and the other similar ones in your folder. I think I agree with cropping, however. Perhaps....

I believe a vertical crop is the way to go. Having almost exactly half of the frame all black and at the same time putting the subject dead center make the image too uniform and boring. The vertical crop is much better, although if it were me, I wouldn't crop so much off the left side as posted above... but maybe just a bit more of the building. Definately some vertical cropping though.
