I was hoping somebody could help me with this... i'm looking to get
some new lenses (some nice fast lenses) for my 10d and *hopefully* an
Elan if i can. I know canon has a program for us folks who sell their
wears on a daily basis, but i'll be d-mned if i can find out anything
about it. The place i work is slow to cough up any info, our Rep is
never around for some reason and canon hasn't responed to my e-mail
(yet). I'm not asking for a list or anything, just any info (phone
number, website, fax number) to put me on the right track.
I appologize if this should have been in another forum, but i figured
i would go straight to the canon faithful :-)

I actually have a question for you... how do you get a price list from canon for employee
purchases. I work at a reseller and should be eligible but i can't find a number, website,
list or anything about the program. I have a 10D and i'm looking for some lenses to add to
my collection. Any help would be appreciated.

Extended service options?
in Nikon

"Another problem, with Best Buy's extended service plans specifically, is that once you use the plan after the manufacturer's warranty ends, you have nothing"
Thats not exactly true, this only applies to the plans you get on things like cell phones and not cameras. Usually what happens is that if your camera needs work in the first year (while manufacture's warranty is still active) they would just send it to Nikon for repair and not even mess with it themselves. After that first year it just depends if BB still carries your camera - if they do theres a chance they would just give you a new one off the shelf and send you broken one in so they can get credit for it. If they don't have your camera they usually give you a "comperable" newer model - though with the price of a D70 they may send it to their repair center first. I once had a friend get his Canon S50 replaced under the plan simply because the small screw next to the tripod mount had fallen out someplace.
As far as the cleanings... i don't know if i would trust a Best Buy tech to touch my functioning DSLR for something like a cleaning; i would want to make SURE he knew what he was doing. Remember, they are used to working on computers and stereos there, not good cameras.
Enjoy your camera!
