I like much of the critique, but mostly that you the photographer articulately reflect, and critique, your own work.  I am moved by the crisp lighting and dynamic lines drawing the viewer in, centrally. On the side, and really of no importance to the photo, is that the horse is most likely a bronze by Deborah Butterfield of Bozeman, Montana. She has made it to the "bigtime" by no other reasons than hard work and persistance.

    Very inspiring portfolio. This particular image reminds me of when b/w is underexposed and pushed. IF you've time, check out my nude portfolio: often I use an anti-neutonian glass slide during part of the exposure in the darkroom.. Chris

    Wildflowers

    I hiked this! Atop, I shot a circle of photos. On last photo, I ran out of film, but some happy campers gave me a roll. I then printed them in the darkroom, and made a circle of them that you could put your head into and look around as if you were there. Almost there.!
