Mark,
This is a good subject that you have choosen.. What I like is the composition and almost monochrome look of this pic and the only bold colour is the orange which is the subject here.. nice to see the fabric caught while blowing.
on the downside though I find the colours a bit washsed out.. the colour balance seems off.. and the background is a wee bit distracting (the people that is)
Well done and all the best 5/5

Ben, Thanks for your comments... I never really looked at the symmetry as pointed by you.
Alex, Well frankly even I did not quite notice the clouds in the reflection.
Steve, Thanks for your comments. Sorry you did not like this image but thanks for your critique.

This is such a perfect pic.. and why is it right down in the ratings.?? Anyway its not always good to judge yr image by the rating you receive here.. Thi image is awesome by its composition, colours, sharpness.. balance..
Perfect execution and a well deserved 7/7

Hi, I like the colours in this pic.. but I somehow dont really think this composition works.. the dead tree is kinda distracting .. maybe keeping it more towards the edge of the frame would have worked better..
Just a suggestion when you find a really good scenery.. like this one... work all the possible compositions.. Vertical, Horizontal.. and move the foreground subjects in different areas of the frame and trying some different angles too.. so you are bound to come home with a winner
Nice work though
Best of luck

I love the warm lighting, colours and the strips of lighting caused by the blinds (I guess).
I really dont know if this is the best possible composition and angle though..
Unique though

Alex,
thanks for the info tagged along with this pic.. it does feel very cold in this room althouh it has a warm colour and yes maybe if the monk had a more natural pose (looking away from the cam) it would have added to the coldness and mood.
Great pic

I looked at this image for quite awhile.. Although you have captured this image well..
frankly there is nothing really interesting in this image..(No offense)
Cant really decide so I will not rate it... so thought I'd at least leave my comments instead... (Don get me wrong I dont consider this a bad image)

I like what you have captured.. although it is not technically perfect like the sloping horizon and its seems a wee bit underexposed.
But I like this image.. it has a story.

Very unqiue too.. 7/6

I like the view point and symmentry of this image.. very unique and refreshing.. talking about symmentry maybe corpping the the top part of the frame where the 1st circle (tile) ends would have been improved on this image.
Notheless I like this image 7/6

I agree with Alex.. but a great image 6/6

Lovely shot.. great framing..I like it a lot.. only the bit of space on the lower left of the frame lets my eye escape out of the compo... but on the whole its an excellent pic.

I love this shot

I like the foreground details and overall monochrome look of this pic. The background seems a bit too washed out but I guess adds to the mood. 5/5

I really love the details in this pic.. the clouds.. the reflection of the trees in the pond.. the almost red mud.. the trees.. great exposure and great composition.. Lovely shot.. 7/6

Great reflections in every aspect of this image... Wonderful composition.. Yes and the movement of the girl is seen by the ripples created as she passed by...
However I dont particularly like the colours/tones in this pic... Wonder what this shot would have looked like on slide (velvia and the likes)
But a great pic... 7/6

I like this pic for the colours.. but technically I do find the use of ND Grad noticable.. also the DOF is not sharp till infinity...the sun/ skyline seems a bit soft focused.

Hi Candi,
Not having any knowledge on photography and capturing such a pic on a Canon A95 just makes me feel you have a natural eye. You have followed the rules of thirds and there is great drama in this pic.
Great shot.. great atmosphere
