I overexposed the petals so that they would appear pure white with the
highlights blown out, and so that the halos around the petals would
appear. I modified the color in photoshop so that the background
would come out pur green, but the petals and polen would still be the
correct color (just oversaturated).

Monitor calibration makes a big difference in how this image looks.
When I view this on a LCD monitor it looks cold and flat, but on a
calibrated CRT the clouds have much more depth.

I was trying to get sliver of bright ligt at the end of a dark alley.
The blooming was intentional, and I helped it along a bit with the
contrast adjustment in photoshop.

I was attempting to get the sky/cloud contrast and the building detail
into the same shot. I used a polarizer to help darken the sky.

One of the first good shots with my new macro rig. This is about a
5:1 magnification onto a 23mm sensor.
