Just started shooting this kind of stuff last week. This is from the
second shoot this week. This is fun stuff right here :) Just slightly
more fun than weddings!

...what the heck are you people talking about? It's a friggin' underexposed snap shot of a dummy head.

It looks great, man. If you want to soften the shadows move your light closer to her. To see the direction of the shadows... and light, hold the strobe under your nose and look at the subject with the subject looking at the camera position. You will see axactly where the light and shadows will be. In other words... be the light. You want to keep the nose shadow out of the right eye. So if you can see all of her eye from the strobe position then it will be lit. Wish someone had told me that a long time ago.
I think it's ok to have a big nose shadow as long as it is soft and if it connects with the cheek shadow to give you that triangle on the right cheek.

I like the look of this. It does make you want to look at it for a while. Dude looks pretty annoyed. Was this burned with photoshop or did you shoot it like this?

This is an awesome photo, but that dang pole, or whatever that is down on the right, is very desrtracting to me. My eye cant't help but focus on that thing. Mostly cause I can't figure out what it is and it destracts from the rest of the picture. Sorry man. I didn't even see the guy on the bench for 10 seconds after seeing the photo. That was cool though, cause it gives you the discovrey emotion as a bonus. Which would not be lost without the pole thing.

Beautiful!

Awesome! Love the light, textures and colors. All shades of browns... nice. Would like to see 2" more on the left side, but that's being real picky. Great shot!

I can't believe no one has commented on this photo. I really like it. You captured a perfect moment and expressions. And it is tack sharp. Not easy to do when subject is moving towards you in low light. I'll bet this photo looks much better as is than it would in color. I'm thinking the color version's background is too busy on the eye. Am I right? Great shot!
