  1. <i>"All the DSLRs that use the Sony sensor in the Pentax DSLRs (Konica Minolta 7D, 5D and Nikon D100) similarly have an ISO minimum of 200. That's because this is the native sensitivity of the sensor, where it produces the least noise and the best quality."</i>

The KM 7D and 5D start at ISO 100.

  2. <i>"I bought the Voigtl?der 28mm viewfinder in black metal. Found a second hand one cheap. Usually turn off the lcd, and compose through the ext viewfinder. Saves on battery. Snapshot mode is fixed focus at 3 meters as far as I remember. No autofocus noise or delay. With my SD card RAW takes 13 seconds, so I shoot jpg, which is fine. Toke"</i>

Does the CV finder block the flash?

  3. Thanks for the reply, David.

I apologize as I probably was not very clear in my posting. What I want to know is, if the 5D's internals (circuitry, processing, etc) were the same as the 7D's, or were there some changes/improvements made, specifically regarding how it handled photos taken at higher (over 800, ie 1600 or 3200) iso settings.

    TIA.

  4. I have been reading reviews on the two, and am confused. Most say

that the processing and circuitry are pretty much the same on the 5D

and 7D. Some, like on Steve's Digicams, noted lower noise levels on

the 5D at higher ISO's (over 800). Any thoughts?

  5. I tried to do a search for the info, but found none, so here goes:

I was reading the review of the 5D on Steve's Digicams, and he

mentioned that removable screens (type M, L, ML) were available to

replace the stock, type G, screen. Here is the page:

    http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/maxxum5d_pg2.html

He mentioned the same for the 7D.

They are not available at B&H. Does anyone know where these can be

    obtained?
