1.
Thank you Bob for your quick reply.

The number of views varies greatly depending on the image content and how long I've had it in the hidden gallery. My nudes will get between 100 and 300 views if they have been there for any length of time where as landscape or still life images may have 10 or so views or even none :=} We are so predictable as a species are we not... So I don't think its a glitch.

The number of views are nowhere the amount that the image will get once it is posted on an 'accessible' page but it is still disconcerting as I only let them out, so to speak, slowly, so as to receive more comments than if I posted them all at once when I process them.

It may be as you say and they are listed as 'sample' images but it is somewhat perplexing none the less. Particularly so when I've recently created another folder and moved all the images in the previous one to it and then deleted the previous one.

  2.
I've attempted to create both private and hidden gallery folders to warehouse images that I do not wish to post until later. I've given no one the URL but when I look at the details of an image I find that it has been viewed many times. How can I prevent this? I've even gone so far as to create another folder and move all of the images in the previously assumed private gallery into it but still I get many image views. Again... How can I prevent this. Thanks, Raymond

  3.
O Howard :/
In California a work is automatically granted copyright to the author by the simple act of creating it. We are protected from abuse if we are willing to pursue it in a court of law.
Not sure how to respond to your predicament Howard but I for one would surely hate to see you go. Illegitimi non carborundum is a mock Latin aphorism meaning "Don't let the bastards grind you down". Aren't you Brits known for stoically keeping a stiff upper lip. Fight the Bastards Howard... Fight!
I suppose that I'm fortunate in that my employers, all artists and photographers themselves, are fully aware and perhaps a bit jealous of what I'm up to with my work. Therefore I fear them not. I'm just careful not to ask any of my students to model for me.
Be Strong my friend!
4.
I'd buy the Canon 17 to 40mm L series zoom. It clocks in as the least expensive L series zoom and it will still work when you upgrade to a full frame sensor camera, unlike that 15 to 85mm. It also is a killer lens to use with a pano head as the front lens element does not move in and out when you zoom so the nodel point stays the same across the zoom range. All the movement is internal. This also makes it easier to keep your lens body clean. Man Up my friend, shower in cold water, get the lens, you'll still have enough to get a skilight filter to protect that glass too.
5. Hello Juha, I am flattered that you thought to include me as an example of whatever it is you are selling and thanks for the invitation to air my views on your curret crusade... As to the "Kovalik's photo", I find it awfully darn funny actually and find that it has more to do with 'ART' than most of the nudes on photo.net, including mine. I only wish I were as creative. John Peri?.. I love his work and find it inspirational. I'm very happy to be included in the same category as he. If one of the functions of art is to create a response in the viewer, perhaps the work you are objecting to is, well, fulfilling its function. Somehow I feel that you've got too much time on your hands... How about your getting involved in housing the poor, conquering world hunger or getting the U.S. out of Iraq and improving our standing in the eyes of the rest of the world. There is enough censorship on this planet, if nudes, any nudes, offend thee... don't look at them, or perhaps pluck thine eye out? Me, I'm off to view the Kovalik portfolio to get me some inspiration. Thanks for the heads up about a pretty fine artist... Cheers, Raymond

  7. Hello Rene,

My wife and I live in Cardiff by the Sea about 20 miles/min. north of San Diego (one of the 4 communities of Encinitas). There are 2 world class surfing spots within a few min. of our home. We are to be going to Italy for the months of June and July and are looking to rent our beach bungalow during that time. We are both artists and have extensively remodeled our home. We are not 'on the beach' but are a 15 min. walk or 3 to 5 min. drive away. Yes, we have ocean views, lovely decks for outside living and a Japanese style garden on a little traveled street. It of course will be fully furnished and has a studio, workspace included. Please contact me for details. You can see our art work and photography at www.dancingbrush.com
